Re: What is your preferred reel cover
I am definitely a fan of the daiwa covers. I have tried shimano, tw, and cabelas, but non work as well as the daiwas.

Re: Don't be Fooled, Here's the Deal on Shimano's Exsence DC
Nice review. The only characteristic that I noticed is that the reel isn't all that special with lighter weight lures, but excels at 1/2 ounce and up...your mileage may vary.

Re: Daiwa reels are JUNK !
Looks kind of like my Daiwa line-up, although throw a couple zillions and a T3 in there. But the reels that caught my eye the most are your two Procaster PR100H.
I have two of those also and when the wind picks up and you want solid, dependable performance...I always reach for those.

Re: which reel
The T3 1016 is the reel I would choose over the Core. I have both and will pick the T3 everytime. Now if you are talking about the T3 Ballistic, the Core wins hands down.

Re: Best casting Daiwa reel?
This is the order I would place them in for all around performance:
T-3 (1016)
TDZ 105
pixilla
Steez 100
alphas
T-3 (1016)
TDZ 105
pixilla
Steez 100
alphas

Re: Third Gen. STX
I have the Gen 3 STX in the 6.x:1 ratio. It is smooth and light and works pretty good. The performance isn't super great compared to other reels. Sure it casts good into the wind, but I have found that distance suffers...just like all reels that you have to add braking to in those situations. I have...

Re: Shimano guys......
I have both reels. I upgraded the 100D by putting a CH MG50 spool and brass gears in it. The 100D is super smooth and I would easily pick it over the 50E becasue it is smoother and more powerful. It is also a bigger reel that fits my hand better, but it is heavier.

Another vote for the 200DC. Can do it all.
