A few recent ties

Just thought id share what has been coming off my vise recently. Been playing with some of my go-to patterns and blending up some custom dubbing and stuff. I love tying flies, there are absolutely no limits. Admin, please remove if watermark is in violation of any rules, I have had some folks steal ...

I dont HATE cold water..

After 5 months of tying, I have truly found my new addiction and passion. I am actually looking forward to the freezing water so I can sit inside and tie flies all day. Sure I love fly fishing too, but there is something about teasing a fish to eat with something you created on your own. Here are so...

Re: Does cost really matter?

Ive owned several brands of fly rods. Sage is my favorite, probaby because of the snooty "i own this you dont" aspect. I also own TFO, and for the money they are hard to beat.

I also have two eagle claw featherlights that run about $16 a peice. They are pretty dang fun :D

Re: Favorite fly rod and why??

Sage BASS II Largemouth with Waterworks Lamson Speedster. I love this combo. Throwing big hair balls is so much easier with the short stubby rod. Would highly reccomend this series for big fly lovers.

More then just a pretty face

I havent posted in quite awhile, but I have been busy. I recently got a Peak vise and got into messing around with deer hair. As you can tell ive become addicted. These big flies are more then just some pretty orniments for a Christmas tree. Ive cause several bass on them, including this one 5-6ish ...

Re: Native Slayer 14.5

I can tell you from experience that the Slayer is > the Cuda hands down, all day every day. It is more stable and more comfortable. The seat is much better in the Slayer, if you sit in both you will find the Cuda has a bar in the back of the seat that sits right below your shoulder blades...that get...

Daiwa Lexa 100 problems

Whats up guys its been awhile.... Ive had the Lexa for about a month and a half or so now and the thumb bar will not re-engage with a handle turn. Also the casting distance has tremendously decreased over the last week or so. I took it apart completely and everything seems to be fine...cleaned up al...

I was very close to buying that spool for the Alphas R before I sold it. This has me second guessing myself. Sweet looking combo for sure.

Re: its not much

I am focusing way too much on the JDM stuff and it looks like I am missing the boat on some really top notch equipment that is moderately priced. Gotta get over to GM and check out these rods. i have pixy, steez, zillions, and the lexa has a spot. i will use this reel for spinnerbaits or large cran...

no the knobs can be removed and replaced if you wish. I actually kinda like the knobs. They are nice and beefy.

Re: its not much

How would you rate the Omen's sensitivity in comparison to other rods? I'm interested in picking one up to toy around with. And that is a FINE looking set-up =D> This is extremely hard to answer...sensitivity is based truly on personal opinion...I can give you my assessment based of my experiences....
