Keep in mind the cast control is set a bit differently. Dont base it on the drop, base it on side to side play in the spool.

So far I love it. After some tweaking I get great distance using 1/4 to 1/2 ounce. The reel feels super smooth and handles fish like a champ. I primarily fish salty inshore water and have not gotten a big enough one to really put it to the test.

Got mine today and have already switched the handle out. I will get it out this weekend to play with it. Ian is a whiz at working on Daiwa reels. Send it to him and he will figure out what is wrong. Helluva nice guy too.

Yeah I tried in the reel section first, but didnt have much luck there...does Shimano make a swept handle at all?

Yessir, I saw those, but was wondering if there was something else. Like something designed for Daiwa but will fit Shimano or designed for Abu that will fit a Shimano etc.

I have a Shimano Calcutta 100xt on the way to me and the first thing I want to do is to change the handle out. I would really like a swept handle, but if I cant get that I want a carbon handle with bearings. Can anyone point me in the right direction for this???
