Gotta agree with you about those 1 lb sunfish. But if they were only 3 inches long, they probably would fight like a sausage...

Re: What is UL to you?

10 lb test is UL when fishing for good size tarpon...

Re: Phenix Elixir vs. Loomis TSR

Re: Phenix Elixir vs. Loomis TSR

I recently purchased a Megabass LTD SLL-68ULS 6ft 8in Black Shoreluck. It has an internal ferrule that appears to be a little too large to completely fit within the top section. I asked the seller about this and got this response: "With Megabass, these rods are not meant to be flush inside each othe...

Bummer - in this case, I agree that there is a substantial difference between a quality multipiece rod and a one piece rod

Re: Presso rod reviews?

I had a chance to handle a couple recently, but did not fish with them. From my perspective, they were too wobbly to cast well or be sensitive. Again, I did not fish with them...

Re: Phenix Elixir

fishing wise, always one pc instead of two, more consistent blank action. Only go 2 pc if you have transportation and storage issues. . I'd have to respectfully disagree with that perspective - I'd challenge each of you to fish a one piece quality rod vs. a two piece quality rod blindfolded and see...

Re: Phenix Elixir

I've built on an Elixir 8 foot blank - two piece. Right after that I sold my two TSR rods and built a 7 foot 6 inch Elixir rod. For ultralight blanks, they are remarkably fast in action.
