Re: Shoutout to Abu Garcia Customer Service
just making it known dude...some random people might see this thread and think Abu is the god of all fishing companies. I am proving they are not. That is all. Sure they need kudos for treating him properly...but whats so wrong with pointing out how they treated me? nothing. Nothing at all wrong wi...

Re: Shoutout to Abu Garcia Customer Service
That's funny stuff--one guy wants to start a thread giving kudos to a company due to customer service he received, and another guy wants to derail the thread and point to his own negative thread about the same company. Jeez. Beezy had a good experience and wanted to give a shout out. No need to dera...

I'd send it to the address listed on their website where they tell you to include $9.95.

Re: Jackson Coosa or Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120?
Between the two you mentioned, I'd go with the Tarpon. It's just more versatile and definitely tracks better than the Coosa. I own 5 fishing kayaks--Coosa, Ultimate, Commander, Tarpon, and the Adios. I like them all and believe they are all great boats. If I'm going to be on a big stream or small ri...

Re: Wal-mart steps up in rod market
I don't mind buying from WalMart, but I shop other places too. The small town I live in has a 24-hour Super WalMart, and there are also two mom-and-pop tackle dealers within a mile of it. One of them has been in business for over 40 years, and the other for about 12 years. WalMart has been here for ...

Re: Recommendations
If you don't mind spending a little money, set yourself up with a Pflueger Patriarch 9525 reel, a St. Croix 7' Panfish Series Rod, and string some 5 lb. Power Pro braid on the reel. An assortment of Mepps Aglia spinners, and you're good to go.

Edwin Evers is due! And he gave me a gatorade at last years Elite Series tournament on Lake Murray, so I had to pick him.

Re: Mike Iaconelli funny video on Revo MGX Reel and Villain
Some people can quote specs of fishing equipment and some people can catch when the whole world is watching. Maybe some can do both. But some don't have to.

Re: St Croix Panfish Rods
I think these rods kind of got lost due to all the, well, rage, about St. Croix's new Rage rod. I picked up two of the Panfish series rods a couple of weeks ago, stuck Pflueger Patriarch 9525's on them both. 75 degrees here yesterday in South Carolina, so I tossed 1/16 ounce Mepps spinners in a frie...

Re: G Loomis owned by Shimano?
Some other interesting G. Loomis factoids---a man by the last name of Kistler worked closely with Gary Loomis, and when Loomis sold G. Loomis to Shimano, Kistler started his own rod company called Castaway Rods, a Texas-based company. Kistler's son worked with him at Castaway and after a few years, ...

Re: ABU Garcia Rods
I have several Vendetta rods and Veritas rods in various power/actions and I think they are great rods. Better than expected for their price range.
I also have many St. Croix rods and while they are hands down my favorite rods, I think Abu's rods offer value like no one else right now.

Re: Invisaswivel
The Invisaswivel are quite a bit smaller than other swivels. It can make it tought to see the hole to thread the line through, but that's the only downside I see to them. It's definitely nice to not have to worry about swivels corroding or rusting.

Re: Invisaswivel
I use them all the time and I started off being as skeptical as a person can be. They work great and I have had zero problems with them. I have caught 8-pound smallmouth bass and 18-pound redfish on the 12 (or 15?)-pound model. I wouldn't hesitate to try the bigger sizes as well if my fishing needs ...

Re: What features decide a baitcast reel can throw light lur
I have to agree with Taylor on this one. I have to adjust the braking and "get a feel" for the lure, especially when changing from say a Rattletrap to a finesse worm, but the braking adjustment as well as adjusting my cast allows me to throw weightless worms and such with Abu C3 reels just fine. I h...
