Re: For people who find Dobyns Rods Mediocre
I just recently purchased another DX casting rod and after a week the cork began to split just under the winding check of the rear split grip handle. I called Dobyns to ask what I can do to stop it from splitting anymore. The pleasent woman ended up transfering the call directly to Gary. I explained...

Re: Sharpie-ing Braid= Lower Visibility to Fish?
I cannot answer the is it better or what situation should it be used in. But one thing that i've questioned is, most permanent markers have a strong smell to them. I know it fades over time but how long and what effect could the smell have....

Re: Daiwa Sol 6.8:1 gearing conversion question
What is the difference between the sol and pixy nose piece? ps, if you want another project I have a sol frame and a few small internals I'd sale.. LH Visually the Sol nose piece is ported where the Pixy is not. The mounting of both plates is the same but the legs that extend twords the frames cros...

Re: Daiwa Sol 6.8:1 gearing conversion question
Whats p with the nose piece on your reel? I have a sol nose piece if you need it. It has a hairline crack in the bottom, but still works fine. PM me if u want it. It's glare from the camera. The nose piece is a new one from a pixy, it's going to require a bit of modification but I should be able to...

Re: Daiwa Sol 6.8:1 gearing conversion question
*Progress Update* The needed parts showed up from Daiwa yesterday. The exterior components all came from the Pixy type R. Unfortunately the red nut retainer is the "large" and I need the "small" for the steez handle. Also the front plate will need to be modified to fit (I figured this would be the c...

Re: Daiwa px68 SPR
I'm guessing your looking for a lighter set of fast gears for a pixy? One other reel you might check would be the 6.8 Monoblock. I'm guessing they just used the pixy gears for it, and if they did make Al gears specifically for it, you would probably have to do unspeakable things to get them. Just a...
