Re: Daiwa BG feedback
I have tried the BG in 2000, 2500, 3000, and 4000 size, and they are an excellent reel for the money. Nothing from Shimano or another competitor brand in the same price range is comparable. The extra weight is fine as if you balance with appropriate rod. I own and fished Stellas, Exists, Steez, Cert...

Re: Saltwater Steez?
I have been using the Shimano Core 50mg7 and Aldebaran MG7 for saltwater fishing for years without a single corrosion issue. Just rinse after a trip and you're good. I also plan to use the Aldebaran 50HG for saltwater fishing as well in 2 weeks. Those two reels are your best bet for saltwater safe s...

Re: Fist casts with Alphas SV not so good
Is there a special way to tune the cast controls for SV spools? I tried reading the Japanese to English translation on Daiwa's web site but I cannot make heads or tails of what they are recommending. I see a Japanese video of 3 guys testing out various SV spools in various reels. They are casting wi...

Re: 2015 Abu Revo Elite Aurora 64 Limited
Freshwater only or saltwater safe? Its all aluminum, but I'm not sure if the ti coating is saltwater safe. Purefishings website says both fresh and saltwater. Interesting... Ti is normally corrosion resistant in saltwater as long as operator takes care to rinse the reel after each outing. I might c...

Re: Readdressing An Old Issue -- China
IMO, the retail price point should reflect the cost savings from manufacturing in China. In some cases, products coming out of China are not priced with the cost savings passed to end consumers, rather the manufacturers seek higher margins from these products. If I have to pick between a premium off...

Ivyline Xero Wood knob Karin Burle
I know JapanTackle carries the Ivyline Xero Wood knob in Karin Burle, but they are out at the moment. I am not able to source this anywhere else searching on Google.
Anyone know another reliable source that has this product available? Thanks all!

Re: New Aldebaran and Metanium DC small pics and specs
My metanium DC has been in customs in LA for 2 days now. Looks like I'll be waiting or paying or both. I've ordered maybe 5 reels from Japan this is the first time its spent any time at customs. The two reels that I got hit import taxes with both spent a long time in the hands of customs... keep yo...

Re: JPAngler Lonnnnng wait
I got hit twice already for import duties with EMS packages this year, USPS mailman collected during delivery. Both times, packages seemed to be stuck at US Customs for a long time, same as your case. I think the long wait could be due to US Customs checking through and marking selected packages for...

Re: How does your JDM hold up in the salt?
I have used all the reels you have listed except the cheaper variants of Calcutta (used TE, DC, Conquest). All the reels hold up perfect without any issues. Rinse with warm water after a day's use and dry with microfiber towel. Lube exposed points on the reel with Reel X and you're good to go for th...
