Re: Need some help with G loomis What is your?
Man, I love these type of threads. I know you asked for one's favorite g Loomis for Bass Fishing, but I couldn't help but provide you with my whole line up as they are all my favorite (otherwise, I would have sold them long ago). G Loomis NRX 916C UBR – Punching, Frogs, Swimbaits, and A-Rigs. The is...

Re: Best $500 Spinning rod for bottom contact techniques
Either the NRX 852S JWR or the NRX 872S JWR. Both rods are great, with the 872s giving you a little more "tip".

Re: Gloomis rod above NRX????!!!!!
JP DeRose makes the bold statement that the Conquest rods ARE more sensitive than NRXs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEeAwjeS_BM I had trouble getting past the large tattoo on JP DeRose's right forearm. Is that a bass or trout? I don't remember seeing that huge artwork when I used to watch his sh...

Re: Gloomis wild card program?
That's the weirdest thing. I can open the link you sent, but if I try to work my way to that page through the current website, I can't get there. I'm not a web guy, so I don't know how it works, but maybe that is an old page that they never officially deleted, but effectively rendered useless as you...

Hmmm...I'm like ShimanoMan, I can't find this at all (I can't even find the "Service" tab you are referring to).

Re: NRX 843C vs. SBR 813C for spinnerbaits
I went through the same thought process as you. I thought the NRX 843 MBR would be great for spinnerbaits, but it just didn't seem to "have it." I used to have the SBR 813 and that was a good spinnerbait rod if you were throwing anything over 1/2 ounce. It never loaded properly with those 3/8 oz. I ...

Re: Getting a NRX895 to balance
I know I am a little late to the party on this discussion, but here's a thread I started over 3 years ago and in it is how I balance my NRX 895 without voiding the warranty. http://forums.tackletour.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=53628&p=424012&hilit=NRX+895#p424012 Some may find this excessive, but it ba...

Re: New 2016 G.Loomis Rods
Hey Bantam,
Are the Asquith made from a materiel that is more sensitive, lighter, faster recovery, etc. than the NRX? I'm just wondering why the Asquith runs over $1,000 and the already incredible NRX are under $800.

Re: NRX 916C UBR
Thanks spookybaits for digging that up. That thread covered my whole initial progression with that rod. Now that I have had it for a while (actually, I am up to owning 3 now), I still marvel at it's versitility. Just a fun rod to fish and as I mentioned in that thread, I would put the lure weight ra...

Re: Loomis NRX 895 balance
I wrote an Initial review of my thoughts on this rod back 2013. Being tip heavy was my main complaint. Here is a link to that thread I started and I also discussed my way of addressing the inbalance problem with this rod.

Re: Getting a NRX895 to balance
Here's a post I made a while ago concerning the 895. The first part is how I balance them without voiding the warranty or affecting the slim line nature of the handle (i.e., no flared out butt end that a chair leg cap would give)... http://forums.tackletour.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=53628&p=422527&hi...
Re: NRX 894c
I had a local guy extend the butt 1/2inch, convert it to a full cork grip and balance it right under the reel seat (I have a tdz type r+ /w 7:1gears on it) for next to nothing. I wouldn't pay retail and do what I did to it but I am in the rod for under 375$ total so it's worth it. I have what I fee...
