Yep...the Steez's main gear is machined for drag. No plastic pieces.
I don’t think that picture is of a Steez. Most probably is from a Z2020.

The latest iterations of the clicking drags have plastic races.

Re: Daiwa LP Reel Bearings Knocking?

I have a problem with several of my LP reels, Lexa 300, Steez A, Steez SV103 and intermittently Tat. Type R CT. all of them are Lefty's and 8.1-1 Ratio but the Lexa. They have developed a knock for every revolution of the spool and depending on the load it comes and goes, I'm pretty certain it is t...

Re: Magforce-Z induction activation revolutions?

Also with air brake it is not at the inductor is attracted to the magnets but that the force acting upon the inductor makes the two ramps slide away from each other and one ramp is free to move while the other is fixed in place. This causes the inductor to extend. Last post for me as we are getting...

Re: Magforce-Z induction activation revolutions?

The sudden revolution of the spool at the beginning of the cast is what extends the rotor on the Airbrake and SV spools. The rotor and spool are static before the cast. As the spool starts up, the rotor resists the start-up rotation of the spool and instead rides up the ramp on the spool. This forc...

Re: Magforce-Z induction activation revolutions?

Sorry but we will have to disagree here, for a magnet to have an attractive force on the extension of the inductor it is going to have to act on something that is also magnetic, iron, nickel, cobalt. Aluminum is not magnetic and that is what your inductor is made from. As far as I can tell there is...

Re: Fishing Misconceptions That You Wish Would Die

"You can balance the rod by putting a heavier reel on it..." - You don't balance an object by placing weight on the HOPEFUL balance point. Unless you're holding your combo in front of the reel, all you're doing is making your combo heavier. If balance is your goal, add counterweights to the end of ...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

A lot of the weight difference is located in the axle and bearing bushing. Aluminium for Roro and steel for Ray's. I have Ray's for my Steez 6.3R, and I cast 2.0g well with it. For 3.0g and higher I wouldn't have considered Roro. But the reason I use Daiwa is because of the braking profile of the m...

Re: Zbone 2020 vs legend elite 2020 vs kaleido Rapid gunner

The fast and extra fast action rods aren’t the best to fish buzzbaits and to keep pressure on the fish when fighting.

Maybe something more like the Super Stallion GT/RS is more adequate for your purpose.

Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020

When comparing the spools you should try the exact same amount of line on both. Then the spools are the only difference. Since I bought my first reel with SV spool I've always had half full spool or less. I prefer 0.20 or 0.18mm mono for most of my fishing with small JDM baitcasters. I'm typically ...

Re: Steez CT with 700s Shallow Spool or Steez Air

For the ultra shallow and ultra light spools casting UL baits I actually prefer fixed inductors. There is often insufficient energy in the cast with UL baits to activate the Air Brake mechanism. The Ray's spools with the knock off Air Brake can be quite fast and wild with UL bait. Fixed inductor is...

Re: What's the best all around baitcaster??

I think answer for your question is "Daiwa's Steez SV TW". With many additional spools options available for this reel (Japan or China made, SV or fixed inductor), you may use it as for hard lures, as for jig (3-30 g weight). Likely going to have a tough time finding one, especially including the p...

Anyone have the new rod that’s spiral wrapped? It would be nice to have a model # to know about which one are we talking. I believe DEPS has at least 5 or 6 rods with spiral guides. I myself have 3 in my rod rack that use whenever adequate. I have limited knowledge Tell me what you got? I saw a fee...
