Xyzman; ... One the cold side; have never had a problem. In fact if you set the handle up for it on really cold icy days you can slide a hand warmer up inside the handle to actually warm things up. Yes this does defeat some of the sensitivity/lightness advantages, until you take into consideration ...

I also use CitriStrip with aluminum foil. After 35-45 minutes I use a popcicle stick to scrap the finish away. I've done half a dozen rods like this with no problems. Wear gloves and eye protection!
