Sarcazmo,
You may want to check out the Hydra NG line of blanks, that's what the ALX Zolo line is based on.

Re: U40 cork sealant
Unless it's one of the "exotic" corks, I don't bother sealing them, cork is a closed cell medium, you can't even dye it, so a sealer that just is an outter coating doesn't make much sense to me. I have never noticed a difference in the amount of time it takes before I re-hit the grips with some 400 ...

Re: Kigan 5G
When I watched the video, it looked like these guides provide the same performance advances that the microwave guides claim to. I want to see if there is any line stacking that is caused from the flatter side of the guide being against the blank side where the line will ride down to the reel.

Re: microwave guides hype or not
It looks like from the video(which I cannot understand audibly) that the Kigan 5G guides will accomplish the same line taming that the microwave does now.

Re: Tricks, tips & secrets
When wrapping micro sized guides, I find that a high quality auto body masking tape(yeah, it's expensive, but I only have one roll of this and the rest are normal blue tape) works best for holding these guides, the extra tack works very well when I split a piece of tape down to 1/8" or smaller strip...

3-Tand Spinning Reels
Saw this on the 3-Tand facebook page, so I figured I'd share even though most of the folks on TT aren't the surfcasting type. Rob Koelewyn, the Van Staal and Zeebass reel engineer is designing another reel under his 3-Tand brand and they are looking for some inputs and are going to be giving away a ...

I put more work into that rod than I do on about 3 or 4 rods, but it was a fun build. I'm sure I'll build another one, or two, or three of those :) . The lighter BTSWB954 build got underway shortly after I got home from meeting with you. That rod came out to 5.4oz before I put the decorative wraps a...

That is one beast of a gizzard, I've seen how fast the smaller ones move, that must have been an interesting fight.

I have here a Hydra BTSWB955 with K series double foot fuji alconites, spiral wrapped left. Custom painted seat, and a little bit of a diamond wrap to match the Revo Toro NACL. http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd496/koldkutspecial/20131114_184217_zps24e75729.jpg http://i1222.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Anyone tried Amtak microwave guide sets?
I can still go out and do a similar test with a smaller lure for sure, I have not sold either of the LP844's yet. I just got impatient with it. I've had these LP844's in the works since Oct 2012. With other builds and whatnot, they always got shuffled to the back of the to-build list. And now I kind...
