Re: NRX casting rods for inshore?
I fish the marshes & bayous from Lake Ponchartrain to Venice, I have owned all the NRX rods, still own a few but the NRX action and taper are very technique specific, something that I have learned over time. I really like the new conquest rods and a relatively unknown Megabass rod called the 201...

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
Thanks but nope, we don't know where the tick is coming from. It wasn't there before catching a fish. We checked it out to be sure.
I'm sending the reel back to Japan and Daiwa for repairs or replacement, I'll let everyone know what happens next.

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
Unfortunately the micro gear set on my 2018 Ryoga HG Left squeals like a pig and there's a noticeable tick on every turn of the handle now after using it once to catch a beautiful 25lb Red. Kazu at Japan Angler said maybe the reel isn't up to the task of a 25# Redfish. I said bull crap if I can figh...

Re: Screwed up with some Cork Renew - help!
Take some 800 grit sandpaper to remove the crap, take denatured alcohol and wipe the cork down. Buy some U40 cork seal and do it right.

Re: Best Custom Handle company?
I'm not a fan of straight ZPI handles the few I've seen the retainer screw goes directly into the CF and they seem cocked one way or the other, none are clean straight in to the handle. They need to insert a metal sleeve into the CF to properly hold and secure the screw. Highest quality handles are ...

I have looked and I've come to the conclusion there isn't one. Great reel though!

Re: TackleTour Exclusive: On the Water with the New G.Loomis Conquest Rod Series
Sometimes I think less is more and I think that NRX was and still is the sensitivity king, I think the added spiral wraps may be good on a stick with twisting issues, but not needed on the NRX, if anything it'll most likely take away that amazing lively action. They (Shimano) needed to come up with ...

Re: Reel handle weight for a great performance...?
The actual weight of the reel handle is inconsequential as far as bearings are concerned in my opinion considering the torque and power applied using the handle to reel in and fight a fish. Sensitivity is subjective take that for what it's worth!

Re: Grease for worm gear (tired of having milky grease)
TSI 321 is fantastic for worm gears plus it lasts months. That's all I ever use now on worm gears.
