Re: parts for a daiwa td z/ito

Correct, the handle collar is the cup washer that hides the crank shaft by recessing down into the drag star. The crank shaft is milled so that this collar stops at a certain point and then becomes the handle seat. Then the handle sits against it and snugs to it when the handle nut is tightened. The...

Re: '19 Steez ct sv tw

Good video, the gears almost look identical to what is in the Steez A, not 100% though, just the clicking drag, washers, ratio, etc. all match. I still wonder if you could use the normal 90mm Daiwa handles. I figure you can but the lock plate runs parallel with the handle rather than slightly offse...

Does anyone find the position of the brake dial bothersome in any way? Accidental adjustments or digging into your finger?
I personally cant even feel the dial when palming it. It is very "out of the way", even compared to its big brother, the SV TW.

Re: St Croix SCV panfish rods

......unless you go custom. Yeah, you should always go custom with a rod that is for such a specific niche/task IMO... :big grin: There was a big learning curve when I first started with customs. I bought several customs before I figured out what I DIDN'T want. Once that was out of the way, I now g...

Re: 50th build

Question about the spacers. I've seen some people have one 2mm spacer, and others have what you have. I'm guessing it's just more aesthetic. Is there any difference besides the slight line lay offset? I want to try my hand at making a few on the mill. Thanks. I've never seen only but one spacer in ...

Re: Anyone having issues buying from Japan Angler?

They recently had national holidays for over week in Japan. Sometimes, rods get hung up in customs, for reasons unknown. Just email Jun and inquire about the rod's whereabouts. They are usually very quick to respond to any emails received.

Check out Bass n Bonsai tube. He has a fleet of reels with one sided handles. I think he buys the inexpensive Ali handles and cuts them himself. They look good.

Re: Spool question

It should drop right in. I think I've done that exact swap, but it's been years since I sold off my TD-X's. 99% sure, because I specifically recall that the gear sets will swap between the 2 reels.

Re: Z Man Chatterbait Micro trailer?

I'm curious if something like a 3" Grub may work. It wouldn't offer much in the way of buoyancy. But should give some tail action. This is what I've used with good success, also a bit-off Zoom Fluke(not super fluke or super fluke jr.). As far as running right, I havent had any problems with the doz...
