Re: Alphas SV TW 800S upgrades
All my reels except a fuego ct reel have a real nut and nut plate. I have a metric ton of those cheap plastic caps in my parts stash. They usually go back on a reel if i ever sell it.

9-8, 22.5" on an aliexpress chatterbait with a fat impact 4" trailer. For perspective, the rear grip on the 7'H Days rod is 12". https://i.postimg.cc/023V7YCz/20240427-104521.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/x8G9LfwC/20240427-104617.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/br4w9VJC/20240427-104631.jpg

Re: SV Boost in older Daiwa reels?
Why would you need stronger magnets? If the spool works in a reel with stronger braking force, it will work on the steez103, its just gonna be faster inside a steez than something like the tdz. Pretty sure it’s the same reason why the zpi nrc001 spools didn’t play well with the older daiwas. Too li...

Ageeed, I've moved back to shorter rods. Most of mine are 7' or less now.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 3:55 amVery unfortunate they don't build anything shorter than 7'3.

Re: Best Spools for OG Zillions in 2024?
Good afternoon everyone!! I recently acquired an old Zillion Type R. The reel looked rough in the pictures but I figured it was just normal wear and tear on an older reel and i'm a sucker for the old TD-Z/Zillion platforms. Well I got the reel, and not sure what the heck happened to this thing, One...

Re: All new steez sv tw
Look on the spool bearing there should be a tiny spring and a rubber washer in front of it. All the boost spools so far had it. It’s daiwas version of shimano’s silent tune all it does is keep slight pressure on the bearing during a cast to quiet it down and keep it from oscillating I assumed that,...

Re: All new steez sv tw
I think the reason the spool has no side to side play, even with the cc cap removed, is that spring under the on-board spool bearing.

Re: Any faster worm gears for the Millionaire?
I'm not sure if the OG Alphas worm gear levelwind is compatible, but I'll ask Tim to chime in. I have an OG modded/tuned CVZ 103 with the OG Zillion 1016 SV spool and it's a great pairing. Still, the levelwind worm gear is the original from the 5.8:1. Yes, the OG SV105SH/alphas sv/px68/px-r worm ge...

Re: Things You Have NEVER Tried
Never tried a loomis rod for an extended period of time. This is due to the fact the only ones I’d be semi interested in use recoils which i hate with a passion (fished them on a few custom builds from friends i despise them.) Agreed, the sound of braid thru them is maddening. I fish braid 99% of t...

Re: New Shimano Caius casting reel
https://fish.shimano.com/en-US/product/reels/baitcast/lowprofile/a075f000042pnrvqas.html So now a reel with a composite frame is 30 bucks more than the SLX with an aluminum frame and silent tune. With that said, I am going to try one out. It looks like it is going to be comfortable to grip. Shimano...

Re: Bearing cleaning in ultrasonic cleaner
I bought it second-hand at a junk store. Theres no nomenclature on it at all. I assume its just a cheapo, made in China product. It has a snap-on lid and and removable cup/liner, with suction cup feet, and runs on 3 AA baterries. Something like this? Mine is simpler, closer to this. https://www.ama...
