Re: frog reel

I love my SHIMANO EXSENCE DC for frogging. Also love Suffix 50lb performance braid.

Re: Shimano Scorpion xt 1000 7.7 to 1 gear upgrade

I'm looking to do this upgrade too for my Curado 50e. It looks like Japan Tackle is sold out of the right hand gear set.

Does anyone know of another retailer that sells the Shimano 7.7 Brenious gear set?

Thank you in advance.

Turning split grip into full grip

Greetings everyone.

I am looking to make a full grip out of a split grip. My though is to fill the gap with some sort of tape and then apply shrink tube over the entire thing in order to make a smooth rear grip.

Has anyone done this? What would the experts suggest?

Re: Shimano Antares Vs Exsense Casting Distance - Frogging S

Another vote for the Exsense DC. I have mine paired with a Dobyns 735C Champ and it is quite possibly close to a perfect frog combo. Though I have mine on Samurai braid.

Re: What Shimano DC Next?

I have a Exsence DC paired with a Dobyns 735 Champion rod as my frog set up. I works amazingly for frogs. The shape palms well for working fogs. Although it is heavy it balances well with the 735. The 8:1 ratio helps well with frogging. It will also serve double duty for a trap reel. Though if you u...

Re: Dobyns Extreme HP up on website

According to the video @ 1:04 (https://youtu.be/iDxYgcrML70) Mr Gary Dobyns states the blank is made of 46 ton Toray graphite composite. That would put this blank on par with the Phenix K2, and from what I read the Orochi X4. This will be very interesting. I love the rod specs from Dobyns. I have be...

Re: Looking for a cranking rod..

What types and sizes of cranks are you talking about? There is a huge difference in gear throwing a square bill vs 10XD. Sadly there is no 1 rod that can cover all your cranking needs. For traps I use the Powell 706cb I like the extra power to rip traps out of grass For DD22 and Fat Free shad DB7 I ...

Re: Dobyns DX 746c Rod?

Any updates on the Dx746 vs 736C? I'm in the market for a heavy swimjig rod for serious cover applications like El Salto.

Hmmmmmm. Same rod. Still fished well? Orochi XX…no kidding…is you're the Tour Versatile too? It fished great. I'd contact Catherine from Megabass…I'm sure she must have heard about this. I had a couple when they were first released. and haven't handled any since. Yeah, mine is a XX TV too. Might co...

Re: Line watching and casting distance with Senkos

In my experience senkos are so full of salt bass will try and genuinely eat, swallow and digest them. Often time people gut hook bass because of this. If seen bass come in and bite broken pieces of senko on the bank just laying there with no action. Therefore, it's kind of a double edge sword. Senko...
