4'6"-5'6" I would do 500 size reel, anything over that I would do a 750-1000 depending on the length of the rod. 2000-2500 is overkill for ultra light tho.

I think getting a used pixy 5:8 would be the ticket, especially for the price range and cranking.. the 5:8 gears are good for it. If you are wanting something new, I would suggest the alphas SV 5.8.

Will shimano be bringing the metanium DC stateside? Will we be seeing it at I-Cast? would make sense since the aldebaran is already here and the rest of the metanium and antares lineups. we haven't had a DC reel stateside since the Calais DC
