Re: ICAST

The Curado 200E7 was made in Japan and retailed for $179 . The New Chronarch which is basically the same reel with a new paint scheme and retails for $200 . Its really not that hard to understand. Daiwa has developed a new line guide called the T-wing. It looks promising and is considered revolution...

Re: ICAST

Its more like $200 vs $179. I believe Daiwa has release new models with new technology. Really? Made in Japan justifies it to a lot of people whether you believe it or not. $200 vs $300 is more affordable to me. We haven't fished the reels yet so whose to say they aren't worth it or a better buy? Th...

Re: Rumor mill has it...

I think you would be buying a Curado 200E with new paint for $20+. The Chronarch is gone. The new gear options and more lefties is commendable. I wonder if Bantam has any insight to the actual differences. I bet he will say the main difference is in the magnitude of your wallet. It appears that the ...

Re: Rumor mill has it...

It appears that the Curado 200E's have been re-badged as a Chronarch 200E for 2012. Seems like tom foolery to me, $20 more expensive same bearing count.

Re: St. Croix blank for spinnerbaits.

I believe if you lengthen or shorten the butt end it will change the action. If a 6'6" fast action blank was extended to 7'6" by adding an extension to the butt end it would become a faster blank, maybe it would be an extra fast. I can't remember how the speed of a blank is defined. I guess my quest...

Re: St. Croix blank for spinnerbaits.

If you shorten a 7'6" MF blank 6" how much will it change the action? I started to search for a 7'+F to shorten thinking that it would net a slower action, maybe go from F to MF.

Re: St. Croix blank for spinnerbaits.

Do you mean too heavy or powerful? I have a 5C70MHF that I use for jigs, but felt it was too fast for spinnerbaits and ended up with a NFC 709.

Re: Guides?

I should have posed that first sentence as a question. I was not trying to ridicule anyone. I was just surprised that no one knew how Fuji measured their guides. Once their wrapped its very difficult to tell the size and I thought maybe Fuji had published the dimensions. I'm contemplating using a mi...

Re: Guides?

51 views and no one knows if Recoils weigh more or less then the TYSG Fuji guides. Also does Fuji spec their the guides by the outside diameter of the insert? For example does a size 20 guide measure approximately 18mm in the inside diameter?

Re: St. croix 5s76MF custom. with fuji micro K series

I don't think I remember it that way, but if it makes you feel better I will give you the $6 for a new guide. It can't take more then 10 min to replace it. My K series guides seem to be holding up well. Has anyone else had any issues with them? I just had the insert pop out of a TKTAG guide on my fl...

Re: Holy cow batman!!!

IMO Weight in hand is not as important as weight that is distributed along the rod. i would say they are extra fast and stiff but lighter than anything i've ever had. i think the guy said they would be available around june. the only question is their durability but since i have 4 tourneys in april,...

Re: St. croix 5s76MF custom. with fuji micro K series

Very nice. How much weight did you save by splitting the reel seat? Also what do you think about using all 4.5 TKTSG guides with a 4.5 stripper?

Re: Spiral Wrap Setup

What are the best applications for a spiral wrap? I'm in the process of building a 5C70MHF for fishing 3/8-1/2oz football jigs. My plan was to use 4.5 tktsg guides on the top, but I'm contemplating running a spiral for this application. Does the direct of the spiral matter for a LH reel? Also would ...
