Re: Champion Extreme questions!
I don't think the DX744 is weak by any means. It is a rod that has a fast action versus a ultra fast action that some manufactures use. Where and how you fish will determine what your preference is. I fish the California Delta. I almost always have the DX743, DX744 & DX745 on the boat. When going t...

Re: Champion Extreme questions!
Its def not a broom stick...almost the opposite. I have the 735c champion, which is more like a broom stick with a very soft tip. The 745 is probably the best all around rod that they make. I have the 742Sf, 743c, 744c, and 745c from the Extreme line, the standouts for me are the 743 and 745. I woul...

Re: Champion Extreme questions!
I went through the same thing, 744 vs 784. In the end I got the 744, but it feels really weak throwing a 3/8 jig with trailer....Now I have the 745c...Its a sick beast! I would get the 745, the 744 feels like a 743 or weaker...maybe I got a bad one, not sure.

I got both and love the Chronarch for lighter stuff....the premier is sick to, but I like it better for heavier things.

Re: Rod for casting jigs
I think you should go with the DX745c. I have the DX743 and 744. The 743 I use for senkos and weightless plastics, but it could take heavier stuff. The DX744c I bought for jigs, but even a 3/8 with a trailer seems to heavy for it. So I just got a 745 during the Mem day sale. Now the 744 will be for ...

Re: bearings...how many? and which?
Bearings for the E5 go with the 7s...3x10x4, 3x10x4 Drags you cam get from smooth drag or biggreenfish.com I've done a ton of curados of all ages and the 7s work out the best! :D Are boca's the way to go? I noticed that biggreenfish.com has their own bearing too, but I haven't found any reviews. I ...

Re: Dobyns Extreme 744CX vs 745CX
The DX744 is a great rod for moving baits and lighter jigs. I would like to get a DX745 for jigs. Trade a DX744 for a DX745???
