Chatterbait Hook-Ups
I'm not getting a decent % of landing LMB on chatterbaits.I'm using Medium Heavy Rod (Loomis) and 17 lb. flurocarbon. Seems like fish are kind of just inhaling and then spitting it out. No really hard, fast strikes. Very very aggravating, especially when it feels like it's only the "big ones" that are...

Jumping Fish
I';ve been catching (hooking) some quality fish on crankbaits in about 10-15 feet of water. I keep them pressured but can feel when they are headed to the surface to jump and try to "shake the bait". Suggestions to keep them from coming unbuttoned would be much apprecisted. I'm losing too many this ...

S O B. Look 'em up online. They will make any size, any color and so on. The are reasonable and LAST. I use the 1 1/4 oz. and larger for slow rolling in about 12 ft. on the botton and catch BIG fish that way from time-to-time.

Re: Brakes on Baitcasters
Buck2, what a great explanation. You ought to go to work for the reel companies-you do a much better job of laying things out than most of them do!

Brakes on Baitcasters
How do you adjust your brakes for different situations? Do you put 2,3,4 or 5 on?Does it change for different types of line? How do you change brakes when going from casting cranks to jigs? I also heard that brakes had to be activated in odd numbers-3 or 5? Whats with that. Help me when I go from a 1...

Re: Are crakbaits worth throwing in the hot summertime????
Good idea, but I get a lot of "short strikes" and hook'em in the nose, top of the head etc. Only thing I can "catch" LMB on is deep cranks-in fact, last week I had 8 good fish and not one was hooked in a lip. Anyone else experience that? Water temp was 81 degrees, air temp was 98!

Mexican border lakes-is there a BEST?
Which of the big 3 (or5) do you think is the best to fish in the summer? I want to take a 4-5day trip and can't make up my mind.Consider accommodations, guides, accessability, etc. El Salto, Baccarac, Mateos,Hultes,Guerrero,Comedero etc. are the ones I am thinking about.Any others I might have missed w...

I have 3 Technas. 6'6" MF for mid-weight spinnerbaits. Stong enough to rip thru grass. 7' MH I use for frogs and smaller swimbaits like Skinney Dippers. 7'M is my all-around rod when I need just 1 for everything-including tex-rigged worms.Great rods for just about anything!!!!!

Need advice on fishing trips and guides
I want to plan a couple of trips this summer but don't want to "fly blind". Considering one of the border lakes with Mexico,a California lake,a midwest or eastern lake for smallies and possibly a Florida trip.I've had mixed results with some guides and poor with others. As long as they seem to know w...

Re: If you could use only ONE brand of hardbait...
Nobody wants to give any credit to H2O. Well, I can buy the same amount of baits and have plenty of money left over for gas for the boat and car, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and maybe a nice $250 rod.I'm telling you, these baits work at 25% of the price of the LC's.I still love the LC's,but if I'm aro...
