Re: Rod suggestions

Don’t know if glx 802c fishes similar to the glx 852c- which I have, cuz both have same rod specs save length. The 852c is sneaky powerful with the extra fast action and is closer to medium than medium light. I’ve also heard that the glx 842 feels stiffer than the nrx version but can’t confirm. In m...

Re: Rod suggestions

So just to clarify- were you asking about the champion 702c or the extreme 702c hp? In my hands the champion will be closer to a medium and the extreme hp version Closer to ML. I believe the hp 702c was originally designed as a finesse special rod And does feel more so than the champion 702c iterati...

Re: Alphas sv/SV105 driveshaft in a Alphas 103 (purple)

I think I may have been the one asking this same question that went unanswered... The sv105 driveshaft does fit in older alphas iterations that did not come with clicking Drags. It’s been awhile but I modified both my 105 finesse custom and zonda 68 with That driveshaft successfully. It really bothe...

Thank you very much for the response... I would assume they would fit because of the similar frame, but was just wondering if somebody had ever tried the modification.

Clicking Drag Upgrade Question for Sol/Alphas/Zonda

Sorry all, I posted this in maintenance section previously, but got no responses... just throwing it out there again... Anybody know if the Alphas Air/ Alphas SV drive shaft can be placed in older alphas, zonda, and sol iterations to allow for a clicking drag? I know the tackletrap drag clicker kit ...

Clicking Drag Upgrade Question for Sol/Alphas/Zonda

Anybody know if the Alphas Air/ Alphas SV drive shaft can be placed in older alphas, zonda, and sol iterations to allow for a clicking drag? I know the tackletrap drag clicker kit uses a modified px68 drive shaft, but given the Alphas Air and SV come stock with a clicking drag, was wondering if anyb...

Re: Zonda clicking star converter kit?

Sorry for unearthing this REALLY old post, but wanted to ask a questions based on possibly new ways to add a clicking drag to sols/alphas/zonda reel iterations. In my limited understanding, previously the only way to get these reels drag clickers were the tackletrap alphas drag clicker kit, which I ...

Re: YGK Waker Dread Fluorocarbon

Thanks for the response. I too heard that YGK Darm was uber stiff, which is why I was wondering if the waker dread was a more managable high end fluoro in the mold of the toray premium plus hi grade.

YGK Waker Dread Fluorocarbon

Anybody have any experience fishing this YGK fluoro? Some quick
research online noted it was a new improved version of YGK Darm,
a line which Cal had said (years ago) was a solid fluoro, but a bit stiff/unruly.

I can't find any mention of it on the forums, so just thought I'd throw
this out there.

Re: SS SV vs Steez SV

I'm currently upgrading my reels and was considering the SS SV. Does anyone recommend it for for an all around purpose reel? Plan on pairing it with an Orochi EMTF. TIA! In my opinion, that reel is too light to balance well on the EMTF, if you were considering it for tip up presentations. The EMTF ...

Re: new Tatula CT

I got my hands on the these at the Fred Hall show and I really like them. The Type R has a little too much red but I'm gonna get one anyways. I have small hands and it fits in my hand nicely. I will definitely have an assortment of these especially with the pricing. If I hadn't bought it at TW, I d...

Re: new Tatula CT

Love the reel... Hate the red... Red, red, red and more red... I dont mind it much when they use it to distinguish gear ratios but my oberservations are that theyre all red!! Need more purple and some neon green like the JDM Zillion TWS!! Funny, the only thing I don't like about the cosmetics reel ...

All this talk has made me curious ... Having a 8 gear overnighted to be able to use Saturday during our local club tournament. pics are needed when you get it! I'll post with a couple of its siblings ... Stand as far away as possible and use the zoom feature to limit lens distortion. Dave...
