Re: What pound test for deep cranking?

I use 12 lb. I like the thin diameter to get down deeper and haven't experienced any problems with break-offs.

They better still make that hook... It's the best jig hook ever made!

Lure Retrievers

What's you guys' favorite lure retriever? Some people at SBN told me to try the 44 mag but it costs $17 for shipping! I really need a lure retriever for my swimbaits.

Re: Favorite Fish attractant

I only use scent to lube up my swimbaits but I have found Pro Cure to be the most durable out of all of the ones I've tried (Pro Cure, Smelly Jelly, Bio Edge, Kick n Bass, and Fish Sticks)

Mend It

What's the deal with this stuff? It seems so expensive compared to normal epoxy. Is it really that much better?

Re: 6xd's vs DD22's

The gelcoat finish on the dd22's is amazing! My normans have gone to hell and back and only have a little bit of lip rash and some scratches to show for it. Also, anything that SK touches is garbage.

Re: Uptons Worms

Upton's worms are awesome. I've been using the 8" and 9" straight tail worms. Not sure what scent he uses but it sure smells good. There is salt in his handpours. The worms are very soft and the tail is buoyant. I use a rebarb hook and texas rig it. Upton's also makes a 19" straight tail. T...

Re: flappin hogs

These are similar to a brush hog, just a little bit different. It works well to just throw these out weightless and let them sink, and then jig it a few times. But I really think that brush hogs are better because you can catch more fish per bait and the packs are really cheap.

I agree, those batteries are heavy... and they never stay charged for long. [-(

Re: Dobyns 733

Maybe I'll get the 734 then... topwaters and jerkbaits were kind of just an added bonus to the rod as it will mainly see spinnerbait/lipless duty.
