Re: Shimano Zodias
I haven't used the 6'10" mh, only the 7'2" mh but the actions are similar. Very versatile stick, i've used it for T-Rig, senkos, chatterbaits, and spinnerbaits. What about the actions? Would you say Fast or Extra Fast? Since Zodias is JDM, I'm going to assume it's more of a Fast action than X-Fast.

Re: Shimano Zodias
Which model is best for 3/8 oz jigs with 14lb fluoro? I'm looking at the 6'10"MH, 7'2"MH or 7'2"H. I don't know why, but I'm leaning towards the 6'10"MH. Something about them 6'10" rods. I used the 7'2mh with 1/4 and 3/8 trig and it was awesome. Skipping and flipping all day and it's a nice stick. ...

Re: Shimano Zodias
I saw in the Shimano thread that you have a Metanium on the 7'2" H Zodias. How does that one feel?cndbasshunter wrote:The Zodias is a lighter rod so feels nicer in hand than the 734. It's hard to have reel nut balance with any production rod.

How is the balance on the 7'2" MH and H models? Say with a Chronarch Ci4.

Re: New Aldebaran and Metanium DC small pics and specs
i don't doubt the performance, but am i the only one who thinks the designers are losing their edge? these look super funky to me, im staying old school for now... 8-) I might have to agree with you on that one. Core 50 and Aldebaran Mg were the sexiest looking reels Shimano ever made, in my eyes a...

Both blanks might be rated as "IM-10", but it's been confirmed by Bantam1 that they are not identical.a1712 wrote:The Black Cumara shared blanks with the Crucial, IM10.

Re: Shimano Expride 2 Piece
I love these rods, accuracy, the perfect reel seat, nice guides and good sensitivity. These rods balance well have a good split-grip length, cork handle and incredibly strong. The rod feels so sweet when loaded up on a bass. Nicest shimano rod I've seen next to Cumulus and the IM-10 Black Cumara. T...

Re: Dobyns Savvy 734C - feedback needed
Jigs = 3/8 oz jig with trailer. Texas rigs = 1/4 to 3/8 oz sinker + hook + plastic. Don't think I will go over that. Fished in moderate cover, nothing too nasty.

Re: Dobyns Savvy 734C - feedback needed
The SS 734C might not be what I'm looking for. I've owned a Champion 704C and liked it for medium texas rigs and jigs. To me, it wasn't a true heavy but in between MH and H. My question now is will the SS 7 04 C's action be close to the Champ 704C? Or will it be like what you guys described the 734C...

Re: new crucial vs last year's crucial
Blank diameter has been one of my biggest complaints with Shimano rods. Specifically, the lighter actions and dropshot rods being as large as my flipping rods. I compared the 7'3" Medium Xfast to the 7'3" Heavy Crucial side by side. The diameter around the blank of the Medium model was actually wid...

Does anyone else feel that the blank diameter on the 7'3" Crucials are overly thick?

Dobyns Savvy 734C - feedback needed
Would the Savvy 734C make a good jig and Texas rig rod? My concern is that the tip could be too soft for me. I'm accustomed to "extra-fast" rods for jigs and Texas rigs.

I think I'm going back to Dobyns but not high end right away. SS 734C on my radar.
