Curado 200 I makes clicking noise when reeling??
I've had two of these make a clicking noise when reeling. It sounds like a loop of line is sticking out of the spool and ticking as it touches the frame. But, it does not make any noise when free spooling (casting) and I looked closely and there was no loop of line. Any ideas? Pinion bearing? It hap...

Re: Blank for Drop Shot
I wouldn't try drop shotting with a bait caster. I built mine on a StCroix 6'10" X-fast, 6-10# line, 1/8oz - 1/2oz weight. It works great for most of the drop shotting I do using 6~8# line. I haven't seen an NFC or Phenix drop shot rod, but I wouldn't doubt they have something of similar length/powe...

Re: Epoxi ?
My experience is that the epoxy will continue to harden over several days. Also, if the temperature is low it will take extra time. I believe contaminants could also slow/prevent curing. So maybe there was something else in the mix cup by accident? I've seen very old epoxy cure very slowly as well. ...

3wt Fly rod blank suggestions?
Its a gift, so I was looking for something easy to cast and my experience is that the fast action blanks are not as forgiving with timing, so maybe a Mod or Mod-fast blank??? Any experience with the following blanks? Orvis Superfine Touch (full-flex action) StC SCV (fast action), SCIV/SCII (fast act...

Re: Surf/Bay Blank suggestions??
What about the Calstar Grafighter GF900M for a 9' baitcaster?
And a PacBay PBX II Graphite Surf X2GSU100M-2 for a 10' spinning rod?
That Grafighter seems like it would be a heavy blank, the PacBay lists 8.9oz... But I guess it spends a lot of its time in the sand spike.

Surf/Bay Blank suggestions??
Whoa! Its been a while since I've been on this forum, I spent 40 minutes reading old posts to see if I missed anything! I've been fishing for leopard sharks and bat rays (and other weird fishes) in my local bay and I like it so much I think its time to build a rod for it! I've been using a Okuma Gui...

Re: St. croix 5s76MF custom. with fuji micro K series
I just had the insert pop out of a TKTAG guide on my flippin stick. I was fishing a tourney on Saturday and I had my flippin stick set up for throwing a c-rig, I grabbed it out of the rod locker and launched a cast and heard a weird rattling sound. It sounded like something was loose inside the rod....
