Re: Kayak Box

What's your budget? If you're trying to spend the least amount of money, you can't go wrong with a milk crate. I'm still using one right now and I attached 6 rod holders to it. It can hold plenty of tackle and other accessories that I might need out on the water.

Question on Curado K Gear Swap into 2013 Metanium

I just ordered the 8.5:1 drive and pinion gear to speed up my 2013 metanium reel. However, the gears don't seem to fit in this reel like one of the other posts I saw from a year or two ago. Please refer to the image below: 78549831_3112733758743507_8783580369430511616_n.jpg Does this gear swap not w...

Re: Crankbait reel

Honestly, you can buy two curado Ks right now for the price of a single bantam reel so I would definitely buy a 6.2:1 and a 7.4:1. That reel has become my crankbait (mainly squarebills and lipless) reel of choice over my calcutta 200d and 100te gt.

Re: Help me choose my first NRX please! :)

852c is the way to go. Works perfect for senkos, light texas rigs, flukes, and jerkbaits for me. I was going back and forth on dropping this kind of cash for the rod but I pulled the trigger and can't be happier that i did.

Re: Need some feedback on the Major Craft SpeedStyle

I've been praying that Major Craft brings some of these rods to the Fred Hall show in SoCal but they never do. I have a couple of their MS-1 and MS-X rods and I love them so I really want to get my hands on one of these.

Re: Top water rod help needed

I know they're not as popular of a rod brand but I would seriously consider the major craft don iovino 6'8 nanoace rod. I use this rod exclusively for my light topwater/jerkbaits such as the gunfish 70 and rapala x-rap 08 baits. It also serves double duty as a BFS rod for neko rigs in a pinch.

Re: Tekel sprekel frog

I don't like the sound of the teckel frog as it's a quiet version of the whopper plopper. I haven't been able to get any good sized bass on it. Honestly, I would recommend you try out the teckel frog first before you decide to tinker and make your own.

Re: Anyone tricked out a Curado K

Is it worth it to upgrade the line guide on this? I feel like maybe you can swap in a line guide to possibly increase casting distance?

Re: Major Craft spinning rods question

I would recommend you wait until they release the MS-1 rods. The last time I spoke to the Major Craft folks weas during the Fred Hall show when I was sampling their prototype MS-1 swimbait rods (7'6" and 7'10" rods). Their plans were to release at least two heavier duty spinning rods that were more ...

Re: stripped screw handle

i have a handle with the screws stripped how can i get it out I'd recommend you buy the "Speedout Screw Extractor" kit that can be bought from walmart for about $20. If the screw is too small, use a small drill bit first before using the speedout screw extractor. This is what I used to remove the D...

Re: deep cranking reel

I am going to "try" a calcutta gt te 100 this weekend maybe. and pit it against a Ringa SSS. I think they are relatively in the same gear ratio. I have been looking around for something differnt but nothing "new" stands out. I have the 100te gt as well and it should be fine. I honestly liked the ca...

Re: Worm Gear Greasing

Grease on an exposed worm gear is a dirt magnet which will lead to premature wear. Use a light coat of oil or TSI 321 that will leave a dry lubricating film behind. I agree with this. I soak the worm gear in TSI 321 and wipe off the excess. It has worked wonders and I don't have much issues with di...

Re: Swimbait Rod Options

I'm looking to add a rod that can comfortably toss 3oz. Swimbaits (imakatsu husky hasuzzy mostly, with some gantarels and LC real bluegills thrown in for good measure). I have rods rated up to 3 1/4 oz and 4 oz, but both feel a little overloaded with the imakatsu on it. Any recommendations? I'm not...

Re: Most manageable fluorocarbon?

I've used sunline fc sniper, toray and seaguar red label, invizx, abrazx, and tatsu. In my opinion, tatsu is the best flourocarbon line out there right now. It's just expensive but it's well worth it. I've fished 4lb, 8lb, and 10lb tatsu so far and its castability, memory, and abrasion resistance is...

Re: Deep spool option for calcutta 100te gt?

Hmm, that is very disappointing. I really wanted to get more line capacity in my old 100te gt reel. Thanks again.
