Re: JIS screw driver set

After having my first battle with a Daiwa “death screw” I figured there had to be a better way. Some of my research pointed me to JIS screw drivers since Daiwa is a japanese company. Anyone in here have a good set they’d recommend? Theres gotta be a way to remove that sucker without drilling and ex...

How do you guys remove the caps on the Daiwa power handles with the big foam knobs? It's the knobs with the 2 circles that you need some sort of key to remove.
You need this https://www.anglerscentral.my/products/ ... -for-daiwa

Or you can bend an old fork and use it

Re: Parts for td-z

Not easy. Most difficult parts to find are sideplates and the drive shaft. You can modify a drive shaft from an Alphas CT SV with a file and a lot of elbow grease. Gears? you can do an easy swap with a OG Steez with a 6.3 ratio. https://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=898_660_6...

Re: Stubborn screw

Should've put some oil on and around it and applied heat via a soldering iron around the screw, which would've warmed the oil to seep into the threads and expanded the aluminium just enough. That's what I do to Daiwa 'suicide screws', that have locktite red applied to them ex factory. Daiwa suicide...

Re: Daiwa spool sizes.

36 mm: add OG Fuego, Daiwa BBS
33 mm: Alphas platform (except Alphas 150)
31 mm: add Presso (like the Air Stream is basically an Alphas with a Pixy spool...)

Re: Alphas Appreciation Thread

6 gram fixed inductor spool for Alphas. Chose between thick and thin inductors. Link in the DIY spool thread. Those Roro spools are really nice. The option of the thick and thin inductor is better than I expected. Thick inductor is really nice for skipping finesse bass lures like Ned Rigs and worms...
