Re: G.Loomis E6X
I have the 852c jwr (paired with Chronarch 50E) that was purchased through a friends employee discount for $159.99. I like the rod and feel that it compares favorably to the Powell Max 703c (paired with Curado 50E). Powell Max sold for $139.99. The Powell Max was purchased in 2012 and the E6X in 201...

Re: Tatula gear set interchangeability
After a little more searching, the Cabela's Arachnid gear numbers are exactly the same as those of the Type R, with the exception that they are preceded by a 6. I just discovered what may be the limiting factor. Each gear set has a different side plate (handle side). I would have to see the cost of ...

Re: Tatula gear set interchangeability
From the Daiwa web site , I see that the 6.3:1 in both the standard Tatula and the Type R have the same drive and pinion gear part numbers. Could you throw the Type R 8.1:1 gears into a standard Tatula? Since the 6.3:1 gears are the same in the standard and Type R, my guess is they will fit a Cabela...

Tatula gear set interchangeability
I haven't been able to find any information on this subject.
To complicate the issue a bit further, would the Cabela's Arachnid be included in such gear swaps?
Thanks in advance to anyone that might be able to shed some light.

Re: New Curado 70
Is that an external brake control knob peeking out from the palming side of the reel?
Seems like a terrible location, if that is what I'm seeing.

Re: Tatula T-Wing Grooving
Ok, I talked to customer service. They are gonna swap out the T-Wings to the newer one. Thing is I got to send in all 7 of them and it will probably be 3 weeks to get them back, which is unfortunate. I got a big trip this weekend and a big tourney in 3 weeks. Guess I will have to use spinning reels...

Re: Powell Max 3D rods?
Any thoughts on the proprietary Powell skeletal reel seats used on the 3D Max casting rods?
I like the looks of the reel seat, but wonder if this would be an improvement over the Fuji reel seats used on prior Max models, from a quality standpoint?
The spinning rods use a Pac Bay Minima reel seat.

Re: St.Croix Avid X
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCjuCLhGlTc As the guy in the above video says, Avid X is a tricked out version of a time tested blank. I really like the way the hood on the spinning rods lock down on the reel, vs. past models that have locked up from the butt end. Will the micro guides change the ac...

Re: quality problem? tatula
http://www.daiwa.com/Reel/pop_tws2.aspx If you look at the photos in the link, the grooving in the photo provided by the poster must be occurring when the Tatula is in the retrieve mode. If that is the case, you would thing there would be a single groove in the center, not two grooves on either side...

Re: Daiwa Sol 2?
It looks like they've done a nice job of recessing the magnetic cast control. That has been the only thing that has stopped me from investing in a Tatula. After further review, the picture angles of the Sol 2 make the magnetic cast control appear to protrude less than on a Tatula. As observed by ot...

Could it be that offdahook is a victim of his own greed?
His incoherence is most likely a result of mercury poisoning from all the fish he consumes.

Re: Disappointed with my dx702 experience
How long ago was this billjaco? I've been to several different shops, and find only a couple that have some type of blemish that would make me want to not purchase the rod...I've purchased 15 Dobyns since 2010 from different retailers online and in-store, and have never had to return one. godshippy...
