Re: For people who find Dobyns Rods Mediocre
They are middle of the pack in terms of both sensitivity and aesthetics. How's that?
Call me when they use better guides and better blanks. Oh and when they quit letting Stevie wonder design them.
Wish I had more hands to give them more thumbs down.

Non "K" torzites
Based on the tt icast report, it appears 13 fishing is using non "k"style casting torzites on their new archangel rod. Does anyone know if/when these will be available? I can't find them for sale anywhere and fuji site doesn't mention anything but "K" style. http://tackletour.com/reviewicast1413fish...

Re: No more Lifetime Warranty- Shimano Rods
One could easily take this as a sign that new shimano/Loomis rods will be of lesser quality... I mean... when every company with a competing product has a 3,5,10 year or lifetime warranty, and one company has a 1 year warranty... I stay away from the product with 1 year warranty. Not because I thin...

Re: Phenix at ICast
Shimano listened to this forum and brought back full cork grips. Easily the cleanest build of any rod released this year. If the k2 looked like the new crucial id buy 2-3. But the burl wood and 3 diff materials just appears cheap and tacky. Too many joints in the handle construction.

Re: What defines Enthusiast products now?
Price mainly. The more you are willing to spend the more enthusiastic you are I'd say.
There are other factors too though. Obscure or rare items also qualify regardless of price because it also takes a high level of enthusiasm to seek out a rare color of a hardbait or something along those lines.

64 is on the slower end of fast correct?? I am thinking about building an inshore rod out of one and wanted something light and strong but a little slower than say a loomis 3 power...

^ would be a much more tasteful grip
At least blanks are still available to build on.

Daiwa t3, hood and tws on that reel must have been engineered by Stevie wonder.

Re: New 13 Rods
Why not? Just the look? Seems like it would make the rod more sensitive with less material to dampen vibrationtywithay wrote:I don't like how thin that handle is. Reminds me of the new IMX..ugh.
