Re: Taking Aim at "The One" with Ark Rods's Sniper Series
I guess at $129 the rod is an even better deal. Tackle Warehouse has both the spinning and casting versions of this rod for a sale price of $129. Sweet!!

Re: Is Fenwick's New Flagship Really World Class?
It's interesting that the comment re this rod on TW claims that the 7'8" H rod is made from an NRX blank. I do NOT know how the commenter could know this or if it is true but it's interesting all the same. I own 2 original version Daiwa Cielo rods and I heard somewhere they were actually brown ...

Re: Is Fenwick's New Flagship Really World Class?
I see that TW has the 7'8" World Class casting MH on sale for $199 and no other models. She's for sale before we even start. For you Yanks I bet that's a steal because Cals point about durability probably applies best to a heavier rod. I like Fenwick rods and own a bunch of Technas, Small...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
i also do not get that handle setup. I have several long, stout Salmon casters and I would not want them without the trigger that's for sure.

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
Thanks Tokugowa. That explanation makes a lot of sense to me and shows that you were not sleeping through physics class. The utility of a spiral wrap on a Bass rod can be debated however in my experience it's best to be prepared with equipment that can handle unexpected visitors that might show up a...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
I once broke a new rod on the second cast and, in the same week, I broke the replacement an hour in to fishing a few days later. They were both Berkley series One 9' casting rods. I had to go back to Li'l Abner casting academy after that .

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
I'm not an engineer however my spiral wrapped casting rod was a much better caster than a traditionally wrapped casting rod of the same length. Granted my rod was a 10'6" one and I threw mainly large #4 and #5 sized spinners, 3/4oz spoons and large slip floats known as "pikers" rigged...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
I looked at GLX crankin rods and they appear to have a traditional trigger handle setup. Perhaps there could be an explanation of the comment? As far as acid wrapping I for one having used one, think that there's a difference. If my thoughts about it converge with Gary Loomis's thoughts about it the...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
I don't know about 7' rods that are for catching Bass but I had an acid wrapped 10'6" G Loomis casting rod for species like Chinook salmon and Steelhead and the difference is astounding for that application. I can't believe that there are not more spiral wrapped rods from manufacturers and I al...

I hate split grips myself. Full cork, decent cork if it's $500 too.

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
Looks like a beauty rod. Love the acid wrap. I would love to hook a screaming Chinook with that 8' cranking rod. On the longer rods I notice they use a reel seat with no trigger. Is this a new trend I've missed?

Re: PI : Megabass's Blueprint of Success - The Vision OneTen
That was a really informative review and very educational especially with regard to hook varieties. Personally I have had so little success with Vision 110s, fished totally stock but certainly not on 6 or 8lb line, that I sold all of mine. A great follow up would be to test the Rick Clunn clone with...
