Line Diameter Comparisons

I use JDM lines as they are rated according to their line diameters. I wish the U.S. market would get in line with the rest of the world in regards to line ratings and line diameters. The fly line tippets are more accurate not sure why monofilament isn't. U.S. 2lb. monofilament to 4lb. line elsewher...

Chris Stewart has a couple of pliers specifically for small split rings at Finesse-Fishing.

Re: Smith Multiyouse TRMK-423UL

I have a Smith Multiyouse TRMK-483UL spinnng rod on the way. Should be here by tomorrow. I’m going to pair it up with the JDM Daiwa Ballistic FW LT 1000S-P reel. I plan to use it on some small mountain streams so ordered a short rod. I don’t own a full glass rod so thought I would add one to my stab...

Re: Will the real 4# please stand up

Here is some info I have.

The Damyl Tectan Superior light weight lines are pretty hard to come by these days. I use it on a couple of my U.S. ultralight reels. All of my JDM reels are spooled with JDM line.

Re: Last Gekkabijin Jig Head

Tried to place an order these jigheads last week from PLAT and received an email that they are out of stock and don’t know when they will be available again.

Re: Inline Spinners

Large double sided box by “Lost Creek”. I use smaller ones to carry various lures/jigs/spoons for a day of fishing. The larger ones I use for storing/organizing lures at home.

Re: Inline Spinners

All of the spinner parts are available online. Initial cost in materials and a quality wire former tool seem high until you find out how many spinners you can build. If you can tie a fly you can make your own dressed hooks or Rooster Tail style spinners or buy dressed trebles.Hardware is available t...

Re: CDM Trout Spoons

I’ve placed 4 different orders and delivery time was usually about 3 weeks. Depending if the seller has items in stock and how long it takes to get through customs. I placed an order for 8 lots of finished spoons from the same seller and saw on the notifications that the processing will be “extended...

Inline Spinners

Some recent inline spinners I made. As inlines are a major staple in my fishing gear I found it cheaper to make my own. Many variations are possible. I have large ones for bass and pike but since I've gone UL/SUL, decided to make some lighter ones. Anyone else make their own lures? 3.5g / 1/8oz http...

Re: CDM Trout Spoons

Never fished with spoons. I purchased some from Chris Stewart's site when I bought several JDM spinning rods and reels along with a BUNCH of tackle. After reading the OP's original post I bought some spoon blanks from Aliexpress and applied some powder paint but was not impressed with the results. T...

Re: What’s In Your Rod Rack?

Alphahawk, it was after reading some of your posts and watching some of your YouTube vids that got me interested in the Lunakia. Very nice rod. Hoping to try it out in a couple weeks when my retirement starts. Should be a lot of fun going after the bluegills. From the Quantum Xtralite to the Tenyru ...

What’s In Your Rod Rack?

I went through my rods and reels over the weekend as I haven’t used most of them in a long time. Due to work and being out of town for extended periods of time I haven’t had many opportunities to do any fishing. Last trip was in back in June for some mountain lake trout fishing. I made it to one of ...

Re: Finesse Fishing.com

I found the finessefishing.com site awhile back. A lot good information there and a decent inventory of rods, reels, UL and what I consider extreme UL gear. Bought a JDM rod and reel as well as some tackle there and was very impressed with the JDM gear. So much so that I bought several more rods and...

Re: Spincasting UL outfit

Sounds like a good setup. I like spin casting reels and I have an Omega 2 on one of my rods. Usually let the grandkids use the spin cast reels but I do like using them myself once in awhile. I wish they made more decent spin casting reels. So far the Omega models have been my favorites. The Daiwa Go...

Re: Anyone use Nanoline for UL?

I have 4lb Nano spooled up on a Quantum Kinetic 05 spinning reel with a TFO Signature Series UL rod. This setup can really throw the smaller 1/16 & 1/8oz lures out there. By far the best for casting smaller lures and baits (for me anyway). You do have to make sure you use really good knots or you wi...
