Re: Best Jig Rod for $200

I have also been impressed with Tiapan Rods J-Will series rods. The 7'7" and the 7'4". Expride and Kistler Helium are up there also.

Re: ALX Enox

ALX is a very good rod company! Alex Makes all of his own blanks! Enox is his top of the line series, I actually prefer the Zolo series for plastics and jigs and the Ikos series for reaction type baits. I have had several of his rods for years. Good guy to do business with and will always take care ...

Re: ALX Zolo Toadface

It is probably the most versatile rod in the line up. it will do senkos, to frogging. Its great for a trap and you can light pitch with it. Highly recommend this rod!

Re: ALX Zolo Rods

The dream is perfect for spinnerbaits and cranks! You can even throw a t-rig on it with no problem. Very versatile rod! ALX rods typically have a more moderate fast action. Parabolic if you will.

Re: ALX Powerbolt or Kistler He3 H 711 MAD

ALX rod is what I suggest. Kistler makes a great rod also however for what you are wanting to do The Powerbolt is the way to go do to the parabolic bend of the rod and the fact that it will be a lighter rod and better balanced. Hope this helps.

Re: Best Frog rod

I use the ALX rods Toadface for frogs. I have one for hollow and the other for Ribbit type frogs. They work in the thickest grass in rayurn and Toledo. what I like about them is the whole rod loads well which is good for braid. They also double up as a good c-rig rod or rattle trap rod for me in win...

Re: Steez- Cast-AGS --- Updated Info

Correct all of this is subject to opinion, however yes everything was the same except for two different soft plastics. Maybe a tube is more sensitive than a brush hog, IDK. The Archangel has a more crisp sensitivity and the Steez is a little duller. Its not so bad I want to sell tho. :big grin:

Re: Steez- Cast-AGS --- Updated Info

I have a NRX 7'5" that I like, but its not the flipping stik its the lighter version. From what I have read about them the flipping sticks are very tip heavy which is what I have found with all the other Loomis rods I have held.

Re: Steez- Cast-AGS --- Updated Info

I had a chance to use my 7'9" Ags this weekend. I used it as a flip/pitch for 1/2oz jig. It did well and is a pretty well balanced rod. I don't like it as much as my Archangel 8' rods. they are better balanced to me as well as more sensitive. The diawa was sensitive just not as sensitive. It was sen...
