I have quite a few Phenix and Dobyns rods. I fish the Phenix Black Diamond and Black Diamond Hybrid saltwater rods for yellowtail/tuna and love them. For bass fishing (salt & fresh) I use the Dobyns rods. Both rod companies are top quality. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

If you are making short topshots with braid, why not use Seaguar Premier?

Are you tying the Nanofil braid directly to the jigs for trout or using a flouro topshot?

I have over 35 reels. Every single one of them has braid. Most are filled all the way to the top and either tied straight to the braid or use a short flouro leader.

Those BPS Microlites look pretty tempting especially for the price. I may have to buy one and check it out. Thanks!
