Re: Product Insight on new Calcutta's
Shimano had to increase the price of the reel, OR cut some of the costs. It looks like they chose to cut the cost, while offering a reel that palms better and probably casts just as good if not better. It's like comparing the Chronarch D to the Curado/Chronarch E. On paper, the Chronarch D is better...

Re: Professional Angler Aaron Martens Details the Albright K
I wonder if Aaron Martens has ever tried the Alberto knot (a.k.a. Modified Albright Knot)? One would not have to do nearly as many wraps with the Modified version. 20 wraps?!?!

Re: Is the Revo MGX the New Lightweight King?
Good review. When bass fishing, I make hundreds of casts in an outing. All sorts of casts too. Some overhand, some roll casts, sidearm casts, etc. The reel is oriented all sorts of ways, when roll casting for example the screw on the MGX will be facing the water. The fact that screw even exists is a...

Re: G.Loomis NRX rods go “Green”
Sweet. The new green color on the NRX rods will match the tons and tons of Curado E reels that they have sold. Shimano is thinking in terms of green, that's for sure. Even though the black w/ blue accent former NRX rods looked great, the blue does not match any reel I can think of. Gonna have to get...

Re: Shimano Product Manager Robby Gant
Cabelas had these in stock the other day I was there, very lightweight and good looking rods (more black than the Cumaras). The dealbreaker though is the hook keeper design, not compatible with the pitch-skipping technique . On a windy day, the line will get hung up around that hookkeeper, especiall...

Re: Coming full Circle over a Decade, the Stradic is Back
Good review. Disappointing that it doesn't come with an extra spool, but then again x-ship makes up for that. I love the handle on the 1000 model, might have to get that reel for a thin braid setup. Shimano nailed it with this reel, I'd probably take this reel over any pure fishing or daiwa offering...

Re: What the Finesse : This Legend Has "It"
Dang, the Legend Tournament Bass rods have the Fuji K guides but these do not?
Might consider the Legend Elites for flouro/mono rigs, but for braid I'd prefer the LTB rods.
