Re: Anyone knows what happaned to "Alphahawk"?

Wonderful to hear. When I searched for your channel on Youtube, I could not find it and had a message that said something along the lines of the channel is no longer active. Glad that you are well - felt a bit worried in case something happened to you. I do see that this forum is becoming more of a ...

Re: Anyone knows what happaned to "Alphahawk"?

Thanks. Glad that he's still active. I'm not on Crappie.com or I'd contact him to say 'Hi'. Thanks

Anyone knows what happaned to "Alphahawk"?

The last time Alphahawk was active was May 11, 2023. And the youtube channel has been taken off line.

Anyone knows how he is? Thanks.

Apparently none....:) Everyone out fishing with theirs.

I can say that i've fished with four of the Eradicators of the same design but in different lengths. The 6' 7" is uber sensitive and light feeling.

Abu Garcia Eradicator 6' 7" ERFS-67SULT. Still on the front edge of performance?

Both iFish and Alphahawk loved this specific model Eradicator. Is this rod still among the better rods in sensitivity though out of production? And what would be a fair value if one is can be found in the open market? My impression is that this model remains one of iFish's favorites though I' am not...

Re: Line on a spinning reel

With BFS baitcasting, less line allows longer cast because it results in lower spinning mass on the spool. Spinning is the opposite. You want to fill as much as possible without it birdnesting. The stiffer and thicker the line, the more this matters. Thus, this matters less with thin braided lines b...

Re: Help for Vanford Series Chose

Depends on the line. If you are using thin braid, the 1000 for sure.

Re: 19 Shimano Vanquish Spool - interchangeable with Shimano Vanford?

Thanks RustyHook. Enjoyable to read your experience. I did not know that there are lighter carbon fiber handle and knob. Wondering how much weight they save. And do you have a link? Curious. My 5.85oz 6' 7" rig won't handle the line that you use. It is for 3 lbs fluoro at best in my estimation. Curr...

Re: 19 Shimano Vanquish Spool - interchangeable with Shimano Vanford?

Yes. The 19 Vanquish, 20 vanford 18 Stella, 19 stradic fl, and I think the 21 Soare XR and Complex Xr all interchange. I stick with Stradic FL. and do bearing, handle, and spool upgrades My last was a stradic FL 1k for trout. Swapped on a Yumeya 1000 n2010 soare orange spool (which innthe 1k is tge...

Re: Is the Shimano Vanquish still top dog among UL?

I agree that the 500 is not as smooth as the 1000. It's actually an older design. However, mine are all 5.0 oz or lighter in weight. However, I prefer the 500 because it is noticeably lighter in hand and I love the 'sparkly metallic' drag sound. Also, I don't find the casting distance any less than ...

Re: Is the Shimano Vanquish still top dog among UL?

I did pick up the Soare XR 500 and passed it on. Lightest spinning reel Shimano ever made. Very similar to the Vanford but shallow spool. I wish the Vanford 500 were shallow spool too.

19 Shimano Vanquish Spool - interchangeable with Shimano Vanford?

I figure if anyone would know, it would be here.

IS the 2019 Shimano Vanquish spool and Vanford spool interchangeable or do they have different dimensions? I'm thinking the size 1000 and 2000 reels.

Thanks.

Re: First year for the Daiwa Presso spinning reel?

Thanks. I checked and think you are right.

I've been running a 2008 unit and it is still smooth as the day I got it - so I got to wondering. Thanks for answering my question.

First year for the Daiwa Presso spinning reel?

Anyone know what is the first year Daiwa came out with the Presso ultralight reel?

Thanks.
