Re: Lews Rods

Did any of yall decide to buy one? I am trying to decide between the team lews and the tournament pro. Is it worth the extra money to get the team lews?

Re: so cal collegiate bass fishing?

Check the flw national guard college fishing site. I don't know if it is a complete list but I know a lot of universities have teams that fish in their tournaments. I'm on the fishing team at my university but I'm nowhere near southern California. I bet you could find at least a few colleges near yo...

Re: I need a new crankbait reel and rod

I have a Lews Tournament Speed Spool and a shimano compre medium moderate fast rod and I love it for cranking. The lews is really nice and I would definitely recommend them. The rod loads up nice and chunks lighter cranks a good distance very easily.

Re: Crucial 7'0" Medium Cranking Rod, newest version

I have that model in the compre line. I dont know how it compares to the other rods you mentioned but it works really well for small to medium size cranks. I would say its ideal for baits 1/4 to about 1/2 oz. It can handle a DD22 size bait in a pinch, but it feels a little light to do that all the t...

Re: Small CB rod?

I use a shimano compre 7' medium moderate fast crankbait rod, if you didnt want to spend quite as much money. I really like it for throwing cranks.

carolina rig rod

I am looking to get a new carolina rig rod, typically with a half ounce weight. I was thinking about the shimano compre 7'2 mh fast worm and jig rod. Does anyone have any experience with this rod? Or should I get the heavy action instead? The heavy rod is rated 1/2 to 1 1/2 ounces, while the medium ...

Re: t3 ballistic, chronarch or exo?

As others have said, the Lew's is a really nice reel. I only have the tournament, not the tournament pro but it is really nice and I would definitely buy another one when compared to anything else in its price range. I would imagine the TP is even better.

Re: Jerkbait/Topwater Rod - Compre

I would say go for the medium rod. However ideally I would say something about halfway in between would be ideal. I dont have either of those rods but i do have the compre 6'8 mh worm and jig rod and the 7' medium cranking rod. While the medium is a little bit whippy, i think the mh would be too sti...

Re: How often do you guys fish?!?

Good gawd I'm jealous! I only get to go about once a month during the school year and never during the summer or during christmas break. Thats what happens when you are a broke college student who has to rely on a few friends with boats. So... about 8 times a year ](*,). But I'll be graduating in ma...

Re: New rod ideas needed

I live in southeast Texas so it's mostly relatively shallow lakes with stained water. Typically the lakes around here have a good amount of standing timber and some vegetation. I don't think I would like a long rod much over seven feet as I am not that tall (only 5'9). However I was thinking along t...

Re: What is thr monetary value of your fishing collection?

At msrp prices about 700- 800 dollars in reels, about 500 in rods and a large tackle box full of gear. However I paid substantially less than that for all of it.
