Re: Stella FI Noisy, Stiff?
How would you compare the size of the stella c2500hgs to the c2000hgs? I have been wondering this for awhile now!!! The body is slightly smaller, but the spool is the biggest difference. With that smaller spool comes shorter oscillations and imo less smoothness and shorter casts. I took the 2500 be...

Stella FI Noisy, Stiff?
I just unboxed a Stella FI C2500HGS. The packaging was untouched and the reel is brand new. upon turning the handle, the reel felt a bit stiff (I understand there are more seals in the FI model) and made a rubbing noise during oscillation like a shhh shhh shhh sound. Has anyone else experienced this...

Stella FI vs. Stealla FE
Of couse the new Stella FI is better than the FE in some ways (Micro Module Gearing, G-Free body, etc.) but is it worth the almost double what it costs to get a Stella FE these days??? An FI can be found at least for about $700 CAD with exchange rate while an FE can be had for just $400 CAD. I'd lov...

Best Lens Colour for Flats Fishing?
Hi all, I'm going to be fishing Bonefish on the flats of Cuba in a few days and I want to know what your favourite sunglass lens colour is for flats/shallow saltwater conditions is? I currently own a pair of Oakly Black Iridium lenses (dark grey) and a pair of Oakley Bronze lenses (amber), both pola...

Aiflo Ridge Clear Lines?
I just saw Airflo's Clear Tropical fly lines at my local tackle shop. Any reviews? Pros/Cons? I'm looking to do some bonefishing, are the clarity and low-floating attributes of the line worth it's low visibility to myself, the angler?

Stella FI: Worth it?
Hey, I've been considering a new 2500 size Stella FI for general bass spinning applications. I have had a Stella FD and have played with the FE and FI. I currently own a STradic FJ as I felt the price difference between the Stradic and Sustain was unworthy of the performance gain between the two. Th...

Re: Fenwick Elite Tech Salmon/Steelhead Spinning 9'6" L
With such a large foregrip on the Fenwick, you can really experiment with reel weight and balance points.

Re: Fenwick Elite Tech Salmon/Steelhead Spinning 9'6" L
Just bought one. I use a Stradic FJ 2500 on it. basically anything around 8-9 ounces balances it out well in the middle of the extended foregrip. the rod is rated 4-8# test, I run 15# braid to 10lb. fluoro leader for salmon and have had no problems.

Hollow Body vs. Soft Plastic Frogs?
What are your experiences with hollow body frogs vs. soft plastic frogs in terms of quantity and quality of fish caught? Is either superior in certain conditions in your experience?

Punch Skirts?
Hi, I don't fish mats/lilies too often but when I do I wonder if a punch skirt makes a difference when punching over a bare plastic pegged behind a punch weight? Is it just more weedless? Responses appreciated!

Sharpie-ing Braid= Lower Visibility to Fish?
Hi all, I've heard of people blacking out the end of their braid close to their lure when fishing straight braid to decrease visibility of the line to fish even if the braid is a natural colour already. Does this work? Should it only be used in certain techniques (frog fishing for example)? Has anyo...

Best Superline?
I've been using braid for years. My favourites are currently Sufix 832 and PowerPro, but I never really ventured outside of the "regular" tackle shop selection of braid. PP is generally good although a bit rough and stiff it has good colour retention. 832 is smoother and limper however suffers bad c...

Re: MEGABASS
Yuki Ito has a stake in Daiwa and is an active member and contributor to daiwa's R&D dept., producing such results as the IS-like purple highlights on some Steez EX reels. As for the rods, I believe Megabass and Daiwa remain separate, as Megabass, with exception of the Steez line is in a whole diffe...
