Re: Shimano conquest Dc 100
No worries. If you’re interested; the 21 Antares DC is definitely a better caster, with smoother and stronger gears, stronger drag… Mind blowing. You can cast it in a typhoon and I swear the DC control is sooo good, you barely have any feathering in your spool. Only downside >>> Just no clicking drag.

Re: '16 "upgraded" Aldebaran BFS vs '22 Aldebaran BFS
You’re right. Gears doesn’t affect casting distance. Sorry I’ve should’ve elaborate better. 22 Ald vs 16 Ald difference in casting is minimal for me. +/- 1 or 2m? The marginal difference is easily compensated with rod, casting, thumb, brakes. The brass gears add considerable smoothness tho (at the e...

Re: '16 "upgraded" Aldebaran BFS vs '22 Aldebaran BFS
I believe there was a post somewhere about the 16 Aldebaran BFS upgraded with the Conquest BFS gears…
Once you go down that path, you realised the 22 Aldebaran has really no noticeable difference lol.

Re: New Poison Glorious
Personally, I find rods over 7ft 2 are better suited for shore casting. Examples would be shore casting for sea bass, and giant snakeheads, offshore casting for Pelagics… Downside of such rods, would of course be the cumbersome length which might increase the chances of snags, especially when there ...

Re: New Poison Glorious
torn between the 2610UL/M and 2610L/MH...I like M backbone but want a slightly stronger tip. will be using it mostly for open water smallmouth fishing in 10-20 feet Line spec on PG 2610UL/M is only 2.5 to 5lb, line spec on PA 2610UL/M is 1.5 to 8lb, line spec on PU 264UL/M is also 1.5 to 8lb, this ...

Re: Shimano conquest Dc 100
i tried to upgrade the drag too.
it wasn't much improvement, and not worth the trouble imho.
reason: the drag clicker pin requires a lot of finesse to put it back.
to effectively increase the drag of Conquest DC 100, you need to forego the drag clicker.

Re: Suggestions for a enthusiast crankbait rod?
Wolfgang is more of a jerk bait rod.
Versatile, can be used for cranks too, I Guess.
Just that I wouldn't use it primarily for cranks.

Re: New Combo #2 for 2016
Nice setup! If used primarily on 1/4 - 1/2oz baits, I would suggest shedding some weight on the reel. Hard to explain in words, but the weight reduction makes whole set up jump alive. Over here in Singapore with hot weather and peacock bass lurking every corner, the weight reduction makes my fishing...
