Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
Well, we can agree to disagree. I dont think its a valid argument based on my experience. I have only broken a rod(s) (3 to be exact) fighting fish/or at hookset - never casting. I also swimbait - hucking much larger/heavy lures than what is the norm using other trchniques- of note ive never broken ...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
Cal, thank you for your statement of why you believe a spiral-wrapped rod will last longer. I have no question about anything but your next-to-last sentence. From context, I take it that you are saying, "Because the blank is not fighting this force, it will operate more efficiently, not be sub...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
TT Reviews are like op-ed pieces - filled with a mixture of science and subjective experience. As a physician scientist, I regularly encounter questions that we just dont have an exact answer for- because its never been studied directly. And even if it WAS studied does not imply the evidence is fix...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?
Cal, you guys almost always show a high degree of independent scrutiny of manufacturers' claims and of myths, which made it surprising that you didn't on the one point in the otherwise great review to which I took exception. Or so I thought, and still must think, since you are not responding with a...

Re: 2013 Bait-the-Finesse Finale : Daiwa T3 Air
Great review. BUT- I still cant commit to going complete finesse in a BC. I need to think my dropshot and shakey head presentations are better served by my stellas and opus acquisitions. That and I can skip wacky rigged worms with a spincaster far easier than with a BC. I dont want to believe u dont...

Re: What the... Finesse Alphas?
Seems people are getting all bent out of shape regarding numbers - but everybody posting is struggling with the math - 30 feet plus 10-12 feet = 40-42 feet That does not equate 50 nor does it equal 36 Id like to see the pinnacle cast 40 feet with that weight, to do it you might be right it is ...

Re: From Rigs to Jigs with the G. Loomis NRX 873C CRR
I own this rod in the review ( will probably be owning 2 of them) - seems SPOT ON to me
Loomis deserves the demerits for lack of attention to detailing, they are riding on the coat-tails of awesome performance and strong buyer allegiance
