When, if ever, are these parts going to be available on the Shimano website? I have one reel that is getting a little noisy due to a gear set whining during retrieve and need to replace it.
Any other place to get these?

Re: Curado 200i, what am I missing?
If you are using the new braking system thinking it is in anyway similar to the old VBS then that is your problem. I started out thinking like that. Turned two brakes on and set the tension where I liked it and after the first couple days I was having second thoughts on the reel. I read up on the ne...

I don't know what review you are referring to but it is a very good reel. I have fished mine for four months now and no complaints.

Re: Lew's VS Shimano
Honestly that TP with ceramic bearings should outcast the two stock Shimano reels. I put Boca OS 7's in my two remaining TP's this winter and it really brought them to life. The braking system on the new Shimanos will give them more control for tight to the bank target casting but for just bombing a...

Re: First Impressions Curado I 200
Do you guys happen to own a ci4 also... I'm wondering how the curado compares to it.. On par or is there a significant difference in casting abilities and smoothness of retrieve.. The CI4 is a tad lighter and IMO it casts light lures a tad better. It's also has a noticeably smaller feel on a rod an...

I like my three Curados better but there is nothing at all wrong with a Lews reel.

Re: Lews TP question
I just put in the spool bearing and the side plate bearing. I didn't change out the bearing under the spool tension cap as when I would turn the spool it didn't even touch the bearing. I didn't see a need to change it out.
Re: Quantum
My experience with Quantum reels is that they will not hold up over time. They perform good when new but I never had one make it through the first year without getting a real geary feel on the retrieve.

Re: Lews TP question
It made a much bigger difference on my Lew's than it has any other reel I have tried them on. I put ceramic orange seal 7's in both of my TP's and it helped them both a good bit. A little noisier than stock but they will cast just about anything now. I was throwing a weightless 4 in senko last week ...

Re: New Powell line?
Personally I like the Endurance rods better than the Max rods I have used. I haven't tried the inferno but I may try one just because.
I don't mind the graphics or the look of the rod as long as it performs well in my hand.

Re: My Curado I Experience
how does the curado throw lighter weights....would weightless senkos be an issue??....i was really impressed with being able to throw a 1/16 jig spinner on my ci4 with little effort after a few casts and some fine tuning (on 40# sx1 braid and upgraded HH bearings)...should i just another ci4 or wil...

Re: My Curado I Experience
The Curado takes a little getting used to. I wasn't in love with mine the first couple trips but now I can't put them down.
Once you get used to the braking system it is great. I can see myself getting to the point that all my reels have this braking system on them.

Re: JM Carbonlites?
Never used one but I know a few guys who like them better than anything else. Both of them fish the combos though with the carbonlite rod.
