Re: Semper Fi Handle
I have one coming should be here soon. I first bought the 90 mm flat handles and was impressed with them. I then ordered the swept version. A very sensible design without a gaudy nut retainerBRbasser wrote:Here is my first Semper Fi handle on my TD-Z. What a great handle they make.

Re: Semperfi handles?
Side by side Semper Fi handles blows away a recent player on the scene. Thickness is thinner and width is narrower. Weight difference of 4.7 grams lighter and the use of a knockoff nut retainer. Who knows maybe sourced from the same vendor in Asia. :big grin: Will buy more of them after seeing in pe...

Re: Semperfi handles?
Does anyone know if there are carbon handles that will fit a Calcutta 100 DC? I tried the standard ZPI for shimano and the Hawgtech for Shimano and there seems to be a clearance problem with the drag star on the DC reel. Is there are workaround for this? http://www.semperfi-tackle.com/2013/image/ca...

Re: Handle Nut (BNT2417)
I ordered them directly from Shimano. Still in the bag marked Handle Nut BNT 4039. I have updated a few older pre D series reels. I plan to retap threads to make use of them.

No they are not all the same I bought some aluminum handle nuts for a Core and they will not thread onto the older driveshafts.

Re: more parts
I am quite well aware of your Semper Fi handle collection Patrick ](*,) I care about the weight of aftermarket Carbon Fiber handles. If their going to weigh more than a Factory handle then why bother changing and spending the $$$$. I don't care about having shelf queen reels none of mine are picture...

Re: more parts
A couple questions about the straight Semper Fi handle ? It looks much narrower than the latest rage Tech handle. What is the weight compared to the Tech handle ? Is the locking plate the same as Factory Shimano ? I hear that Tech is revamping their handle design. The Tech nut cap size kills their d...

The key piece of the puzzle is using circle hooks. The fish hook themselvesBladerunner808 wrote:Medium to fast. If you use circle hooks for wacky like I do then it dosen't matter. Slow is fine. But given the choice I like 6ish and higher.
Mustad Demon Circle Inline size 3/0 for Largemouths, 2/0 for Smallmouth.

Re: My custom CU-100B
I found that the E/G series drag stars bottom out on the side cover. I am using Ch 50 MG drag stars instead with Curado 50 E handles with bushing replaced with another bearing.

Re: Semperfi handles?
I agree the nut retainer is the issue. The handle width is needed use that retainer. It would have been better to use a Shimano nut retainer (Core) / Plastic Nut cap retainer (Most Shimano) setups. Neither is a large space eater. Drill and thread for using the Shimano screws. IMO this would be a muc...
