Re: You guys hear about a Vision 110+2 ?
Anyone have a chance to fish these yet? I still have a couple weeks to go in my neck of the woods. Gave a sexy french pearl one (confidence color) a good workout today. Didn't catch anything. Didn't catch anything on any jerkbaits for that matter- fish still too deep in ~40 degree water. The plus 2...

Re: Exsence dc smoothness
Thanks guys. I let the seller know my concerns, and he gave me a partial refund which I hope should be enough to cover the servicing charge. A true gentleman, although once in a while it was a little difficult to understand what he wanted to say. (At any rate, his English seems to be a whole lot bet...

Exsence dc smoothness
So after reading all the rave reviews, I finally got myself one of these. I found a pretty good deal on an used reel and I bought it. Now the only problem I have is that it doesn't seem to be very smooth on the retrieve. It has a *geary* feeling when reeling (with or without load- doesn't matter). I...

Re: Mattlures tournament series
Taken from TackleTour's review of the baits: Rate of Fall: Unlike some of the competition, Mattlures offers their soft baits with pretty much one rate of fall – fast sink. You can count on a foot to foot and a half per second on these baits as they waist little time getting down. However, you can...

Re: Need some GLoomis Education.
Hey guys, just wanted to come back and update the thread. I got an NRX 893C JWR. Found a pretty sweet deal on a good used rod, and bought it. Does everything I wanted it to, and in great style too. Thanks once again for all the info.

Re: Put a sweet stinger on my Decoy HydraTail...
Well, I guess I was lol; but not because it's a small bait. My bad if you felt bad OP. I apologize. I don't see the need for more than one hook (single jig hook or a treble with a point embedded) on even 10" baits (RP trout/ Baitsmith magnum). If a bass wants it, it'll eat all of it. The one and onl...

Re: WHERE do you draw the swimbait line?
Here's a nice article: http://bassfishingarchives.com/western/the-birth-of-the-swimbait The rest of the site is good too. There's an article Bill Murphy wrote about worms that's hosted there. Can't find it right now, but I'll be happy to email it to anyone who wants it (saved it as a pdf when I foun...

Understood. I use 25# and 30# big game on 400 size (shimano 400 size = abu 60 size) reels, with KVD L&L before each trip.

Re: Must have simbaits for Northen Guys
Angry John; I have been running 15 lb YZ hybrid for smaller baits for the better part of the last 2 years. It has been good to me. By smaller baits I mean sub 3 oz baits- Matt's hard and soft gills, Strongbass, 9" Slammer, 8" TT, 6" hudds etc; pretty much anything I fish on my MH swimbait rod. Now f...

Re: Must have simbaits for Northen Guys
I hooked a 4 pounder on a Hudd 8". I wouldn't necessarily go small (5-7") just because it's not California. The goal is to entice the big girls that feed infrequently and not easily enticed with typical tournament flavours. Go big regardless of latitude. Can't think of any bass country without five...

Re: Must have simbaits for Northen Guys
Matt (Mattlures) makes one of the best panfish imitators- the hardgill. I'd have said it is THE best, but I haven't fished them all (other gill swimbaits)- only because I don't see the need to change something that works so well.
