Really excited about the 2023 BFS offerings. This is something new in the Orochi line and the rods/specs look good.
Does anyone know when these will be available?

Re: Why Magnetic Braking System Than Centrifugal Braking On BFS reel?
Another centrifugal brake fan here. I just got in to the BFS game about a year ago and am having a blast. While I do appreciate the magnetic braking system on my Alphas and Curado BFS reels, I find the old Shimano centrifugal brake system is a lot less finicky to use plus I pick up extra casting dis...

Re: Kistler He3 vs ALX Zolo
I own several of the Zolos and they are great rods. That being said, I have around 20 Kistler KLX and He3 rods and they see a lot more service than the Zolos. They have a lighter and crisper feel to them and are very sensitive (especially the He3s). I also have heard miscellaneous rumblings about th...

Re: Looking for a new jerkbait rod
Long-time Kistler fan! I am currently using their KLX 6'9" Medium Mod-Fast and could not be happier. It handles everything up to Super Spooks. This rod was designed for med-medhvy topwaters and I could not be more pleased with its performance. I originally bought it as a coast rod for specs and reds...

Re: Opportunity for a Kistler Helium lta?
I still have a 1st generation 6'9" MH and use it regularly. It is the first "premium" rod I purchased years ago
and til death will we part! Even after all of these years it still compares favorably to more modern offerings.

Re: Whose on top!
Certainly no expert here, but I am pretty much at that stage in life where I am fortunate to be able to purchase pretty much what I want as long as i can justify it with my wife(she is a very understanding person). We are certainly fortunate to have so many great rods available nowadays and the choi...

Re: Kistler He3 MHXF
A lot of love from my perspective. I have around 20 Kistler He3 and KLX rods and they are all tremendous values at their price points. Kilter received somewhat of a bad knock years ago on warranty issues which I cannot weigh in on. All I know is I have never had an issue with any of my Kistler rods ...

Re: Kistler He3 MHXF
Got the 7'1" He3 MHXF on the Kistler Black Friday sale and have been throwing 1/2 oz jigs with no problem. It is noticeably
stouter than the KLX MH 7"0" rods I own. All in all a great rod though and certainly worth the price even without a discount.

Re: Castaway Skeleton rods
I have one of the early skeleton rods,a 7 foot med-hvy, and have used it for about three years now. Good build quality, relatively light weight, and very sturdy. It has handled everything from 1/2 oz. traps and spinnerbaits to worms and jigs. I have probably purchased more than 20 Castaway rods sinc...
