Re: Where have all the Full handle Rods Gone

It's not a new thing, been this way for a while now. I don't care for split grips, so I took the custom route and haven't looked back.

Re: Anyone Use Rembrandtreel service?

If you don't mind waiting extensive periods of time for sub par work, and dealing with an arrogant wanker who will tell you to go pound sand if you don't cradle his bag... Then yes, he's your man. Dragging your sack across broken glass does sound less painful, and at the end of the day, the finished...

Re: NRC001-M

If you look at the inductor width on SS SV stock spool, it's quite wide. Compare it to the width of the Zpi Nrc001-m. Same goes for the SLP SV1000 and SV105 spools - bigger inductor. Then factor in the magnetic polarity of each different reel, and you really don't know what you might end up with. I ...

Re: All new 2019 Jackall revoltage rods

So these were introduced at the beginning of the year, and still aren't released  Australia release says before Xmas, no idea about Japan. Very confusing. There are a few listed on Ebay for like 500 bucks, but Jackall website has msrp under 30,000 yen on all models. Australia price is roughly...

Looking good, Tony and Tim!

Tim, you'll probably cringe at some of these photos with the Zaion drag stars~
I really dig that Alphas. Blue is my jam - looks similar to my Steez. Who painted it?

Re: Tatula/cronos mlrb

I had and regretfully sold the Cronos 701mlrb rod. It was great for small to mid-size cranks. I've been considering re-purchasing it myself.....but I would have to buy a reel, too. Heart-breaking, right? That is always the problem isn't it. That's how I end up with so much stuff. I keep saying I'm ...

Phenix Ultra umbx 700L

Anyone build on this blank, or using the production rod? If so, have you taken measurements? I know what the power is on the medium light, but not this one. Also curious how stiff the tip section is, and how deep the blank flexes before shutting off.

Re: Maxima Braid 8

Long time 832 user but I'm trying some 10# for fines and trout fishing. So far, I've liked it, especially for bottom contact since it seems to sink pretty well. It does get soft faster than 832, but it's also thinner. I'm using a leader with a crazy Alberto and found I needed to thread the tag end ...

Re: U-40 pros and cons

I'm okay with it darkening the cork if it prolongs the life. How does it alter the feel? I have eleven rods with cork grips, some long full grips with a foregrip, some short split grips without, some in-between. Would one jar be enough to treat all those? 1 bottle goes a very long ways. Super grade...

Re: U-40 pros and cons

I don't really think their are any cons, unless you don't like how it slightly alters (darkens) the cork. I wouldn't use it on serious top grade cork myself for that reason (plus I like the natural feel), but I don't have to worry about it because I only have Eva and carbon grips in my arsenal.
