Re: Centrifugal Brake Question

Do what zenbassr said and just polish it, the oil is only there to fill in the imperfections, Polish it wipe it clean then after each use wash it off, I just drop mine in a bucket of cold water after each use, give it a swirl and put it away, I avoid hosing as i wouldnt like to blow any sand deeper...

Re: One rod & reel

Well if you want one combo, I would say its my daily user. Shimano Curado50E spooled with 12# YoZuri and mounted on a Shimano Compre 6'8 MHF rod. This is a great all around setup, there is nothing I cant fish with it.

Re: Shimano Curado 50E

The Chronarch has a few component upgrades, both great either way. SHIMANO,...... Here I am LMG. Bought a Curado 50E about 5 weeks ago NIB off Ebay, from a guy in Louisiana who had 6 to sell. Got mine and watched the other 5 disappear in about 3 days. Hootie Now you need some Boca o/s spool bearing...

Re: Getting A Frog Ready To Fish

What are the things that I can do to a frog to get it ready to fish? Thanks, Crankbaitmaker Make sure he is wearing protective clothing. When frogs are out of the water they are very vulnerable to sun damage. Also, give him Shimano products to use, so he has less issues with his equipment. Lastly, ...

Re: Centrifugal Brake Question

am surprised that it was not mentioned previously, but i dont oil the brake drum i polish it up w/ brasso. i do this for all my centrifugal brake reels, incl my Abu Morrum IVCB, not just Shimanos... a polished surface sure makes for nice smooth consistent braking  i know Shimano recommends...

Re: Centrifugal Brake Question

Im gonna have to stand on the other side of the fence on this one. I clean my brake drums with cleaner solvant, then a drop of oil on a foam q-tip and swipe the drum with it. The reason I do this is that it cuts down the raw friction of the brakes on the drum and prolongs the life of the parts. Fri...

Re: If you could have just one reel

Easy. My Curado50E. I like the Chronarch too, but I love the Curados color, its classic. I can fish 4-15# nylon line to 6-50# braid. Most versitile reel, thats why its my daily user with 12# YoZuri on it.
