Re: Tatula Elite vs Curado K

I own two K's and a Scorpion MGL. I also just got an Elite last week. I've only got about an hour on the Elite so far, but I will say this. I'm getting the same distance with the Elite throwing at 75% power as I do with my Shimano's throwing at 100% power. I'm still getting used to the the braking ...

Re: Quantum Smoke S3

I got the Smoke PT in the mail yesterday, and have to say, Im quite impressed. Tolerances are pretty tight, movements are smooth, clutch engage/disengage is solid feeling. Hoping to get it out on the water a bit this weekend, as well as a few other Korean OEM reels that I have accumulated. Waiting o...

Re: 2009 Shimano Aldebaran AR roller bearing

I know there is a replacement number you can use, but to get one from Shimano you have to get the whole sideplate. Of course yours is the JDM model, and if I can remember where I put that info, Ill try to get it posted unless someone else answers here first.

Re: Shimano Antares manufacture year?

Mid 90s (97 I believe). I have the same reel on my display case. The correct name is Scorpion Antares. Here is a thread I did on mine. https://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-forum/index.php?topic=135760.0 Wow! Thanks Matt. You just reinforced why I send my reels to a professional. I imagin...

Re: Quantum Smoke S3

I wouldn't buy a Smoke S3 when I can have a better reel for half the price. I have been waiting to share this for someone else to open a Quantum thread. I found two Vapor reels on Ebay, and got them for $75+-. The brass main gear from a Quantum Icon fits them perfectly, so I bought two gears for $5...

For those of you that own the new red Scorpion MGL, what are the gears made of (brass or aluminum)?

Quantum Smoke S3

Anybody mess with the new Smoke S3 yet? Been kinda curious about the reel. I know its a China market reel, but seems somewhat decent for what you can get them for. I have used the Vapor before, and it was a decent reel for what I paid for it, and a good casting reel as well.

Anyone stick a regular Daiwa Sol spool in their SV105s?
Did you ever try the Sol spool in the sv105?
Unfortunately no. I have since sold that reel to fund some other stuff.

Will help with thin braid, but they tend to wear out quickly.

Re: Flip Pitch Punch Reel

I have a Tatula CT Type R/Fuego CT hybrid reel that I use. Basically took the T Wing system out of it, and used the regular line guide and Fuego sideplates. Dont care to beat up any of my nicer stuff with that kind of abuse, so I use a cheaper setup that has a stout drag and solid gear set.

Used the Bantam today and absolutely love it.

But it does need some sweet grips and a carbon fiber handle, I wonder why HH don't sell there brand anymore :-k
Put a HawgTech handle on mine. Used the stock knobs though. Lovin the reel a little more every time I use it.
