Re: ICAST 2019

I like the Coastal SV, but would need to swap out the T Wing like I did with my Tatula Type R.

Re: Need new casting reel within a month, what to do?

How do you feel about round reels? You can get a Conquest 101HG for under $400 from Digitaka. If you like the way the Bantam feels, you'll love a Conquest. Those are basically for high torque applications like deep cranking and big swimbaits, right? I really like smaller reels that I can palm comfo...

Re: Scratched up my Bantam, what can I do?

I should add, I once kept my reel in a reel glove right after fishing it, without the line drying out, and it smelled pretty moldy/mildew-y when I took the glove off. It was pretty gross. I worried about the line's strength after that... partly why I re-spooled it with fresh Super8SlickV2 after get...

Re: Bantam MGL sensitive to spool filling?

I didnt find the Bantam to be a great "caster" myself, but I wasnt intending on using it for that. I filled mine with 17lb Sufix Advance for pitching baits in the 1/2-3/4oz range, and it does great at that.

What are you planning on using the reel for? That will help influence which reel is really necessary.

Re: Scratched up my Bantam, what can I do?

I feel your pain. Getting a scratch on a reel (whether $50 or $500) can make you want to cry. I dont think there is anything you can do other than finding some touch up paint that matches. Covering the reels is all you can do. My reels are covered when not in use, ALWAYS. Even when they are in the r...

Re: Best rod tubes for travel

I stick my 2pc in a pvc tube that is 1" longer than the rod. The rod is put into a rod sock that is cloth, and folder over. Ends of the tube have a shop rag stuffed in to keep it tight. Been to S Carolina, Maine, California, Alabama, and Tennessee with no issues. It gets "carried on" and put in the ...
