Re: Set it and forget it reel

Imo the newer shimanos are more finicky than the old vbs style breaking reels like e series etc. But once you get them dialled in they are solid. Re: Have you had any issues with the Megabass Orochi XX?

I broke a gen 1 a mart flipping special on a hook set and got a gen 2 brailest and it broke boat flipping a 1 lber. My buddy who got me into megabass broke several destroyers. I read and hear of so many newer mb rods breaking that i sold all of mine. They're nice rods but imo why drop 300$ + on rods...

I have mine paired up with a GLX 842c and it's incredible. I use it for 1/16 and 1/8 oz jigs, and small topwaters like Ricos.
Are you talking about the newer glx 842? I love the taper for poppers and jerkbaits but i hate how long the handle is for them.

Re: Best rod to pair with Steez CT ?

I had mine on a custom K2 714. Match made in heaven My vote goes for a phenix k2 714 its a fun rod that can do a lot of technics well. I have the alphas sv tw on mine witch i read is similar size to the steez ct and l love the feel of that combo. Ive wanted a steez ct for my k2 for awhile but haven...

How about a phenix k2. I have the 7'1" mh and very impressed with its versatility. I would imagine the heavy model would be your interest

Re: Calling all soft jerk bait fanatics

I only really throw zoom super flukes any more. Change the gauge wire of the hook to change depth. Thin wire for top medium wire for sub surface and heavy super line hooks to keep it down a couple feet.

Out of the rods you listed I'd reach for the enox bmj.

Re: New lures in your box 2021

My favorite new to me lures this spring so far is the frittside 5's so far. I bought a couple rapala og cranks too but caught more on the frittside. I got a 110jr +1 but don't throw jerkbaits enough.

Re: What's your rod lineup for this year

Poison adrena 6'11" m+ What are you using yours for? I can't seem to find a wheelhouse for this one yet. I like it for tx rigged weightless flukes and 4" paddle tails with 1/8 and 3\16 oz heads. I think it will be a great topwater rod. I tried it with the 110 and liked it bit didn't get bit. I did ...
