Re: Snaps

I have many of those oval and egg/triangle shaped split rings -also from DUO I believe. Yes, they are better for direct ties or at least they make me worry less :-)

Re: Snaps

Thanks for the info and recommendations. I understand the purpose of split rings allowing for more freedom, but wasn't sure if the shape, size, and added weight of a snap would hinder an already lightweight lure. For general bass fishing I was always somewhat discouraged from using snaps because of...

Re: Varivas Super Suspender SSR-610T

Quick update. I used the rod again a couple of weeks ago. The rod was mounted with Steez TWS SV and 10lb FC line. Sadly, the rod suddenly broke while reeling a small inline spinner. Even more sadly, Caster House - the Japanese Seller - will not cover repairs as I used 10 lb line on a rod rated 3-6 l...

Re: St. Croix stagnating?

It is a good age ;)
Some Swedish webshops, eg sportfiskeprylar.se, have a relatively large St Croix selection. As others have mentioned, St Croix are popular in Muskie/Pike fishing circles, and that may be why the rods are sold in pike-loving Sweden...

Re: St. Croix stagnating?

i find it strange that they contract out the guide installation when they have such a huge factory They do both. Not sure what chunk contractors take though... St. Croix sells a lot of rods even in Europe. Are they really popular in EU? I do not really think it is true. I'm in EU and I rarely see t...

Umbrella/Alabama rig equipped with...

I decided to give the U/A-rig a shot for big European perch. Will try casting and trolling the Geecrack Merry-G FX Jr. http://www.geecrack.com/freshwaterEN/product/lure/WB/merry-gfxjr.html Has anyone tried using the rig with lures other than soft plastics? I imagine that small inline spinners or sma...

Re: Til Failure

In addition to Athlean X, other good youtube channels include Jeff Nippard for some more science based info - see his “Effective reps: Does training to failure matter for muscle growth”. I really like Ryan Humistons channel for the less science based and seemingly very experience based info - a good...

Re: tsi 321

I love the tsi321.
I have many other products but prefer the tsi321. See no reason to put oil on top (?), but I guess it should be fine after a cleaning.0

Why all the red????
I wish they would have made it all black. Or maybe with a little silver accent.
Too much red for my liking.
The new design looks kinda like my first generation poison adrenas, but with alot more red.
Red AND just too much bling. I find them ugly as .... (and I like Shimano)

Re: (Swim) Jig confusion

The big perch appreciate large fish imitations, so a swim jig with paddle tail should perform well.

The fish in the picture was one of two perch caught that day swimming the 20cm 98gram (8” 3.5oz) Savage Gear line thru trout in moderate sink...

Re: (Swim) Jig confusion

Thank you, smalljaw. I have been searching for and buying some more swim jigs with 30˚ line tie or thereabouts. Unfortunately, I had already spent some dollars on jigs less suited for swimming, which is the skirted jig fishing style I am most interested in at present. For some reason, skirted jigs a...

Re: Best action for a jig rod

I agree with other comments. When choosing my rod I consider many things... Lure matters: In general, I prefer F or XF rods for lures that I present slowly, often with single hooks, and with bottom contact such as most jigs. In contrast, for fast moving baits, often with treble hooks, I prefer M or ...
