Re: How much line to put on bfs reel?

Hands up if anyone has used 100m of line on a fish in Freshwater? I split my 125yard spools into two line shots and sometimes 3 for the sake of that amount being the top shot only. We've got skinny creeks and regardless of normal casting or BFS that working portion is used and turned over in time. M...

Re: gears for baitcasters

I'd dare say from the limited / non existant release of company manufacturing video's on / of their products especially gear manufacturing I'd dare say that the limited information provided to their (whoever the manufacturer) gears other than advertising "digi, hyper, machine cut, forged et al" is a...

Re: Morethan 1000xh - Coffee Grinder

That bronze alloy is good and bad onto itself. Self lubricating to "a degree" and absolutely swallows it's tongue in an instant.

Never engage while mid cast - the mechanics of what's going on only to shock load that pinion and main is asking for trouble.

Re: accessories for stripping/spooling line

Buy a thick length of wooden dowel / cut into 20cm odd lengths - drill a pilot hole in the end and screw a decent gauge screw into it deep enough / and enough remaining to use in a drill chuck. Cut the head of the screw. Put it into the drill chuck, and wind off the line at your leisure at manic spe...

Re: What is Daiwa doing?

Sort of like Shimano's move to suddenly call the Curado G a Chronarch. After the Chronarch B, that's where the exclusivity of the Chronarch ended. The Chronarch E (Black & White) was just a follow over and hand me down tooling - I'm pretty sure every one knows it was a in-between move for the next ...

An ultra fine sand / diamond wire saw blade and a tennon saw, just cut through the Cork side of it and sand flat both edges and epoxy shut when done.

Re: Magforce-Z induction activation revolutions?

Anyone actually tested the inductor cup to see if its actually pure aluminium? It'll be some form of alloy that's a bit more responsive to the neodymium magnets are rare earth type. If anyone remembers the Shimano Bantam reels of old ran magnets (on 2 hinged butterfly wings) but we're not that stron...

Re: LED Desk Lamp for working on reels.

Name of the game at night is no shadow's... I know a guy who's got one of these lights set up over his fly tieing desk but it's criss crossed like an X so he's got zero shadows - but it's too bright for my liking. I just run one LED bulb in my desk lamp - but luckily I have a over desk shelf that's ...

Re: Baitcaster Casting Video

Comes down to the rod build and technique. I just bought two old9 early 1990's pistol gripped glass blanked rods and you can really use the tip to cast without the need to swing the whole rod. That parabolic bend they deliver is just something Graphite / carbon rods can't. I really come to enjoy my ...

Re: Titanium Framed reels?

Now if you want to talk about failure, let’s talk about Daiwas terrible introduction- the T3. That reel didn’t last me very long, what a piece of junk  If that hood was sturdier designed where it had 2 pins holding it to the frame than just one or metal slides than small diameter pins it would...

Re: What is Daiwa doing?

Global platforms, global parts and easy to manufacture and keep track. Gone are the days of the interesting and individual. Im not a Daiwa guy myself, but I would gladly own any from the mid 2000's prior to Magseal when they lasted and lasted and were simply aesthetic and all round beautiful to own....
