Re: Daiwa warranty/repair question

Sometimes guides are wrapped that way on purpose. They call the extra wraps in front lock wraps or something.

Re: Daiwa magnetic brakes

Yes, unless you have everything turned up so high that you can't get any distance at all, you still have to thumb the spool. Though, every reel is different with regard to how much input is required. Especially if you're using braid with one of the faster, farther casting spools, whether it's SV, Z,...

Re: Major Craft N-ONE Day One

Awesome. I'm a Major Craft Maniac and that sounds like an awesome rod. I love that line, too. I use it with a 3-5' 4# Invizx leader on a St Croix Panfish Series 69ULF and it works great! It has surprisingly high knot strength and holds up very well, even when battling catfish and hybrid sunfish. Plu...

Re: handle zillion type r

on a side note would air HD bearings be an upgrade over stock bearings?? thanks Indubitably! I'm a total believer in Hedgehog bearings, though. You should get better distance, but even if you don't it will be easier to get there. Plus you'll get better control for pitching, skipping, and accuracy. ...

Re: Store brand rods and reels

There are a lot of Cabela's rods that I like. I tend to stick with name brand reels though. The Tatula variants can be found for around $100. I think Cabela's brand rods are a thing of the past. I was in the Billings, MT store last week and the only Cabela's rods were the ones on clearance. I asked...

Re: BFS Training Line

That poor Trulinoya Volkey 65UL knockoff broke in half on hookset. What is this Volkey Knockoff you speak of? The older Trulinoya Elite. I think I jammed the ferrule into the top section too hard and weakened it. This was my 1st ned rig and 1st BFS fish. I was testing the BFS waters with the Elite ...

Re: Show Your ROD Rack

The last king one is great. It will hold 14 casting combos. I need another one myself.

Re: Help IDing this crank

Now that I think about it, I think I had the squarebill version, which aside from the hooks was just terrible. It seems like I might have had a regular crank like yours, but it was obviously forgettable.

Caught this one on a trout spoon crank last weekend https://i.postimg.cc/BZmhbpFM/20190825_141151.jpg And this one on a scaled down double fluke rig using Crosstail shads, #2 Gammie G Lock hooks, 10# braid to 8# leaders on a ML/F spinning rod and 2500 reel a few years ago https://i.postimg.cc/3JWtvG...

Mega top is just Daiwa's nomenclature for a solid tip. They say theirs is denser and stronger than the typical solid tip, etc etc. I have one on my Tatula med x-fast casting rod and it's pretty awesome.

Nice. I've had a few of those in my cart for the longest. I love their Galaxy Gill color.
