Re: Cranking It Up with Sunline's Crank FC

How does it compare to Invizx? I always assumed they'd be similar. I'd like to see a detailed review of Invizx and Abrazx. They're on the list but my initial impressions with both lines several years ago when we first did the FPI weren't great so I didn't fish them... will try to give them another ...

The old red Fuego has a similar drive shaft, just a little bit heavier
I don't know why they put those heavy drive shafts in a reel designed to be light. They did the same thing with the Sol, which was way heavier than the Alphas as a result.

What? NO!! When you cast that reel, half the fish in the lake disappear. POOF! Gone.

You can't just buy Megabass reel parts, unless you have the original defective part. Only way to find those parts is to hope someone swapped their stock MB reel parts with something else.
So how does that work? You send the part to them and they send a new one back?

Re: Lexa 300 v. Tatula 200

I know the Tatula is smaller, though I don't know how much. It will have plenty of line capacity for all but the biggest baits. I do know that Lexa would make a killer catfish reel. I almost got one of those, but decided I wanted to try a swedish made Ambassadeur instead. It's an awesome reel, but I...

Re: Millionaire CT SV

Can you take the spacers out, change the worm shaft, and use a regular spool? Might be worth it to get one and sell those parts off to someone who wants that tiny spool... I don't believe this would be feasible as the CT reels with the spacers have also a longer pinion to reach the spool as the spo...

Re: What's the difference

The line is clear in the red package and "green" in the green one. It's not green like Trilene is green. It's more of a smoky, slightly green tinted grey.

Re: Line recommendation for topwater/jerkbait combo

I second the 30# braid. You could go with a 10-12# fluoro leader or straight braid for jerkbaits and a mono leader or straight braid for topwater. If it's a walking bait, definitely use a mono leader of 14-16#, maybe more. No reason to go light on the leader for that.

Re: Jbraid grand issues

I'm thinking they must have QC issues, the 30lb blue I was using and stripped off was fluffy and not woven tightly. I have a spool of the grey light color and it is much tighter woven. I haven't tried the green color but the other ones haven't bled. I have a couple of reels spooled with the grey 20...

Re: (SUL) Super Ultra Light?

I use 4# Invizx on my ASC and it has plenty of capacity for UL baits, and that's using a 6'4" UL bass rod primarily for 1/16-1/8. If you wanted to use it with heavier line/lures you could always drop a Mag Z Pixy spool in it. I consider using 6# invizx on my ASC and similar BFS reels. What do you t...

Re: Zillion Type R driveshaft modification

Awesome work! I think you're ready to make some 8.1 gear sets for TDZs. :big grin: It's funny you say that...i just got my first lefty last week (that I did my first shaft mod to) so I haven't even had the pleasure of enjoying the 7.1 gear set in a tdz! I've been joking with a designer and a CNC gu...
