Fishing Industry Tackle Sales

Just curious if anybody knows if companies like Shimano, Daiwa, Abu Garcia, Shakespeare etc. post their yearly sales revenue? It'd be interesting to know who's number 1.

Driveshaft bearing upgrade on Daiwa Luna 103L

I've been doing some research on TT about the driveshaft bearing upgrade for my Luna 103L. From what I gather, I will need a shorter gear shaft collar (Part # G01-1401). Does anybody know what size bearing I will need? One post mentions a 8x14x3.5mm bearing. Another post mentions needing a bearing w...

Re: Looking for a light rod - Suggestions?

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm hoping to be able to check out the Phenix Recon2 and the Dobyns rods soon. I will definitely consider the Kistler KLX and the St.Croix Avid but would like to handle them first.

Re: Looking for a light rod - Suggestions?

I have the recon 2 ml. It will load 1/8 well. I cast a 1/8oz setup over 30yd easily. It will handle all the smaller cranks, jerkbaits, and topwater baits well. I like the fast action of the tip. The sensitivity is a little above average for its price range. Thanks paulito. The Phenix is really high ...

Looking for a light rod - Suggestions?

Hey Guys, Now that the government has given me my stimulus package (income tax refund), I've decided to do the right thing and get me a light baitcast setup and then saving the rest. I've been doing a lot of research lately and pretty much decided on my reel. After much deliberating, I think I will ...

I have one on my Dobyns Fury 795SB swimbait rod. Great reel for throwing big swimbaits and umbrella rigs.

Re: Luna 103L Handle

The Luna 103 has a straight drag star so you will need to change it for clearance of a swept handle. I don't have experience with parts for the conversion because I used a 203 handle on my reel instead of converting. Hedgehog might have some fancy bits for it. I looked on Hedgehog's site and I real...

Megabass F5-72CG Swingfire

Hi Guys. I just picked up a Luna 103L and looking for a rod to go along with it (~$225 max). I am looking at the Megabass F5-72CG Swingfire. I searched but did not come up with much. Does anybody have experience with this rod? It's rated at 1/4 - 5/8oz. Just wondering how it will handle lures up to ...

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty

I reel with my left (but I am right handed). It's been a lot easier to find good low profile reels now in left. Still hard to find good conventionals reels in left retrieve though.
